Alanis is back with one of the best singles of 2012.

"Guardian" is pop-rock and radio ready, combining slow, luring verses and a booming chorus. Musically, it doesn't offer anything new for the singer-songwriter, but it features classic Alanis lyrics, phrasing, tone and vocals that remind of her Jagged Little Pill singles.

Few who have come since Alanis in '95 offer consistantly satisfying work, and I'm sure her "Havok and Bright Lights" album will not dissapoint!

I've been a major Alanis fan since her Jagged Little Pill days. I was super excited when I heard she was coming out with a new album. This lead single certainly doesn't disappoint. It's a strong catchy, radio friendly song. I think it was a good decision as a lead single. I will admit her last albums didn't have a strong lead single, but this one is amazing!! She never disappoints. I see this as a hit.

I got here quite incidentally by channel surfing one evening and happened across a wonderful interview on the Audio channel with
Alanis Morissette. Held captive by her introspective nature and her self-described geekiness, I realized that it was indeed a treat to be reintroduced
to her music. Alanis is beautiful inside and out, and there is a noticeable maturity and strength in her voice. It is stronger than ever, and she seems so comfortable with herself; a certain groundedness just seems to shine through her. The lyrics to Guardian caught my attention instantly. There are several ways to preceive the song, but overall it is very spiritual and uplighting to me. I cannot wait for the release of the entire CD. I still have Jagged Little Pill but haven't listened to it in years. I'll have to dust the cover, crack open the case and travel back in time a bit. Alanis is a very gifted sensitive artist with a lot to say for those willing to delve deep into her lyrics. This one looks like a winner.

She has continued to grow and change as an artist. This single is a snap shot into her current life and focus. Her voice is as powerful as ever. Looking forward to the album.

The meaning of the words are intriguing, they are extremely unique. The refrain is catchy and intense. I'm still trying to figure it out.
