Amazon is definitely the issue for the delay- Order at your own risk,

Wish I had seen the other review before ordering.
I ordered Nov 22nd, 2006 and as of this date still haven't received it- They sent me an email after 4 weeks (2 weeks past the first delivery date and too late for Christmas) saying it was going to take a bit longer. Well, that 3 weeks time window has expired and I certainly wish they would have just said, "Maybe if we get enough of these orders we'll actually order some and maybe you will get it" Amazon, do the right thing, just tell us if you are sending it or not. I paid extra to have it delivered in time and wow, if I had known that I wouldn't have gotten by now, I would have never done business with you. Part of my other order was an import from Japan and that came on time. This is distributed in the US. Oder only if you have patience and you can't find it anywhere else. Maybe I will get it by the summer.

.Hack//sign Review,
By Myron Xanthos "Shadow" (Everywhere, and Nowhere) - See all my reviews

To fans of the show, you will more than likely have already made a decision about the musical score. If you haven't seen the show, the best way I can describe it is as world music with female vocals added. Some of the tracks make me think, Renaissance Fair, in that it has the instrumental sounds one might think of. Other tracks have a calm melancholy to them that I found to be very enjoyable. To get a really good idae of the style of music, look for Fiction, also by Yuki Kajiura. It has a couple songs from this cd and it has the same vocalist, Emily Bindiger. That's my rewiew and I hope it helps.

The item, I know for a fact is a quality one, because a friend of mine has it. Thus, the rating.
BUT, I warn you now... I ordered this item October 28th, 2006. It is now January 31 2007- and they have been yet to even SHIP this item out to me! So if you can, try to get this from another seller. I am very unsatisfied with Amazon.

Musically innovative and full of wistful melancholy,
This review is from: .hack//SIGN Original Soundtrack 1 (Audio CD)
I love .hack//Sign and am a huge fan of Yuki Kajiura's work, one of the most memorable aspects of dot hack is the music, it works with the beautiful emotion of the landscapes and art to truly bring the story to life. Most of the songs are just as powerful or more powerful out of context. This CD evokes the deep emotional and existential questions central to .hack and continues to delight and inspire after years of heavy listening. A few highlights;
2. The World: A beautiful tortured vocal piece sung by a women's choir, dark and mysterious. One of the most beautiful pieces on the CD. 4. Key of the Twilight: Memorable, fast-paced and emotional. A beautiful composition for all-female voices, I hear something new with every listening. 5. Valley of Mist: Rich and fluid, this song is a journey. Slower, gentle, swelling, melody lines are juxtaposed against fast and insistent percussion. 6. Where the Sky is High: An embodiment of nature's beauty, though more free and joyful than the others, like flying through green mountains and valleys. 7. Fake Wings: Simple and powerful, a delicate cry of loss and faint hope. 11. Before Dawn: A softer more passive emotion, feeling the joy of simplicity. After the passion when you have to sort through what has happened. Piano. 12. Foreigners: Agile and lively, makes you want to dance, but still has that dark side which characterizes this CD 13. B.T.: Beautiful and sad, I get goosebumps every time I listen. Displays a wider, more mature range of emotion. Violin/Piano duet. 18. Silent Life: The first real ray of unrestrained hope on the CD, complex and growing, it is like the journey to the top of a mountain then looking into the valley below. Unlike other reviewers, I had no issue with shipping; Amazon was timely and the CD arrived undamaged. Though the CD has been discontinued, I urge you to find a way to get a copy, from a seller here or elsewhere. It is worth it!! |
