Excellent as the anime!,

Although the anime is a bit weird and so is the music, once you get to see and hear it, you get hooked! I loved the type of music because it's SO different from the normal "j-pop" songs in animes that makes it even better! It is a must buy for any fan, because you won't regret it. ^.~

Wonderful,

When I saw this, I knew I had to have it, especially after watching some of the first episodes. Although I would still like to have had the FULL soundtrack, this is good too. The opening and ending theme's really fit the series well and "See Saw" the singer's of both songs do a wonderful job, as well as Yuki Kajiura. And like many other's have said, it contains both the full versions of the op/end and the karaoke versions. And it also might be good to say for those who have never heard the songs or seen the series, even though it may not be important, is that the opening, "Obsession" is in full english, while the ending song "Yasashii Yoake" or "Gentle Dawn" is in full Japanese. Anyway, if your a fan of this series or whatnot, I highly suggest getting this CD, I love it! ^_^

Not Your Typical Anime Music...,

This review is from: .hack//SIGN op/ed (Audio CD)
I recently purchased this CD (along with the .hack//Liminality and .hack//SIGN OST) from Amazon.co.jp, as I very much liked the BGM to .hack//SIGN.As for this CD though, having not heard any of Ms. Kajiura's other works (NOIR comes to mind) I'm not going to compare it to such. Instead, I will say that her music is quite different, owing MUCH more to the different stylings of Celtic, Irish, and medieval music, well suited for the RPG atmosphere of The World (which is the RPG game of the .hack series). When I first heard the Opening and Ending themes in the multiple .hack//SIGN fansubs I have watched, I thought they were strange and not my style. However, when I purchased this CD anyway, I found that the long versions of these two songs are actually VERY good, and I'm glad I did not pass this single up. I eagerly await to see what my .hack//SIGN OST and .hack//Liminality OP/ED (by the same group (See Saw) and also written by Yuki Kajiura) For those of you expecting standard Rock or JPop fare, this CD is not for you. But if you prefer different stylings that echo an RPG-like atmosphere, this CD is definately something you should check out.

Some beautiful music,

After watching a few episodes of the TV series I decided that I must have the soundtrack as soon as it was released. This isn't it, but it is a nice little bit to hold me over until the release of the full soundtrack. It's worth noting that this contains only the opening and closing (and voiceless/karaoke versions), but they are the complete songs and not the TV edits (the opening is included in edited form on the OST). I thought $15 was a bit pricey, but I've paid more for CDs that I've listened to less.

See-Saw does a really awsome job with their songs, but Obsession and Yasashii Yoake (spellings off) are probally one of the best. This is one of the greatest animes in the world and it desreves some really good music.

Quite the awesome CD.,

.hack//SIGN's music is absolutely wonderful, and the OP and ED themes are no different. Obsession is really a good theme for the show, even if the lyrics don't make sense at first, and Yasashii Yoake is really a touching and beautiful song. See-Saw really does a great job with these songs, so buy the CD!

.hack//Sign is a favorite of mine for music, with songs varying from slow and mournful to fast and awakening. The opening song, Obsession, is highly recommended.

its ok,

I just wanted to start out with, this is a CD single. It doesn't include any of the orchestrated background music or whatnot from the show. It just has the opening theme and the ending theme. And also first, about ...sign's background music, it is good but it bothers me that it sounds pretty much exactly the same as the OST from Noir (they both have the same opra techno kind of songs). This probably can't be coincidence since ... and Noir are both by the same studio (Bee Train). I guess I was just annoyed at they couldn't come up with any other better style of music. Well anyway, I'm writing a review about this single, not the ... OST. The opening theme isn't too good, it is all in Engish, and English that you cannot even understand. The first part of the song starts out with "How come I must know?" but some people thought that the singer was actually saying "Hacker's mind was lost." So yeah. Basically its a jumble of oddly formed sentences that you probably wont be able to understand in the first place. The second song however, is very intersting. It has that RPG sound to it. In fact some parts remind me of the Chrono Chross opening theme thing. Like use of drums and flutes and whatnot. So basically...about this CD, I would definetely not recommend buying it, unless you are planning on entering a karaoke contest. You can download either song on the internet. (I got the end theme :P )

I havent exaclty heard this CD yet, but I have seen some of the anime .hack//SIGN I must say, this music is some of the best I have EVER heard! Its a blend of techno/fantasy/celtic/choral. It's all in english despite the fact that it's a Japanese team doing the music. Very impressive and absolutely gorgous lyrics and voices! Highly recommended!
