5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, April 24, 2009

I have not used another shampoo/conditioner combination that makes my hair feel like this! I have natural (kinky) hair and I don't always do what I should to take care of it. These products make my hair feel soft and manageable. I am still getting used to the no-suds shampoo because I don't think my hair is clean until I get a good lather.

5.0 out of 5 stars really amazing results, February 5, 2011
i had no idea this product was formulated for curly or kinky hair when i bought it. i was looking for a shampoo without SLS or sodium to care for my brazilian keratin treated (BKT) hair. this poo does have metal chlorides which are technically salts used as surfectants, but no sodium.

anyway --- my hair is slightly wavy and as i said, BKT. i absolutely love this poo. it took only one wash for me to get used to the no-suds and now i prefer the experience of washing without suds. suds now annoy me because i know they are stripping all the good stuff out of my hair. my skin even feels less dry now that i don't have sudsy shampoo dripping all over me in the shower.

i'm not a cosmetologist and found this shampoo on my own -- so i can only speak from my own experience about using this with BKT. it maintained my treatment better than the coppola stuff I had been using and my hair is **incredibly** soft. i plan to continue to use this even after my BKT wears off.

tl;dr: LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finalist, June 15, 2010

As hot and humid summer moves into Chicago, my crazy hair transitions into what looks like wild strands of antenna wire sticking out of my head. Hair Rules Cleansing Cream helps calm down the out of control frizz. My head hosts a combination of hair types. The smooth curls love the humidity but it sends the frizzy parts screaming for moisture. I used the Hair Rules Cleansing Cream, followed by Hair Rules Curly Whip to bring out the coils. After several hundred dollars worth of experimentation on curly-support products I give these products, along with some Ouidad products, my endorsement. And olive oil. Hair Rules might seem pricey, but you only need a little bit to do the job. To me it is worth it because it does not strip my hair like many other cleaners, even those indicated as specially formulated for curly hair. THOSE OTHER PRODUCTS are the waste of money. Bite the bullet and love your hair and give those sexy curls what they crave. YOU ARE WORTH IT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good 1st Experience, April 2, 2010
I just used the Hair Rules No Suds Shampoo and their Conditioner for the 1st time yesterday. I have curly/kinky thick shoulder length hair. I am about 10 months into transitioning from a relaxer back to my naturally curly hair. I've read a lot of books on natural hair care, as well as read the reviews of Hair Rules Products online and watched some of the videos on YouTube, and figured I give Hair Rules a try. I purchased the Hair Rules Travel pack (which comes with 5 of the products to try, I wanted to try the whole line to see its effect on my hair). I have never used a "no suds" shampoo before, so it was a really different experience. Since you get no suds at all, at first you think your hair will not be cleaned properly. But after using the product, my hair and scalp were very clean. I honestly found no difference in terms of how clean my hair felt (compared to using my regular shampoo). The product has a nice fragrance, not too strong or overpowering, but clean and subtle. After using both the shampoo and conditioner my hair was clean, soft and manageable, (it did NOT leave my hair feeling stripped of moisture, dry, or brittle). Overall I liked this product and would purchase it again, as it seems to work well on my hair, but I will try some other brands first (like Miss Jessie's) before purchasing. I may even go to the Hair Rules salon in The City, to experience their hair care products and expertise first hand.

Great for it leaves hair clean and undamaged when washing daily. I miss the suds, but still consider it very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy to Be Nappy! Curly-kinks rejoice!, June 13, 2011

This is an excellent product line. I only dislike the scent, which is a bit heavy and "plasticky". It's great for hair that's coarse and dry or fine and dry. I use it daily on my son's hair as he swims. It keeps his hair curly and soft! It keeps my curls nice, soft and bouncy with no additional products needed for styling.
Though the buildup is not bad, I do wash his and my hair once a week with a clarifying shampoo.

4.0 out of 5 stars smells odd but works well, February 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have medium to fine hair, and alternate between this and a volume shampoo/conditioner every other day. It gets your hair clean without drying it out - I don't even have to use a conditioner. It does smell a little weird, but it's not off-putting, I'm probably just used to hair products with a lot more perfume in them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, gentle shampoo, December 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have really curly, frizzy hair that dries easily. This shampoo is so gentle and I love the way my hair feels when I use it. I can't use most shampoos on a daily basis because they dry my hair too much, but not Hair Rules. I feel like it controls the frizz and leaves my hair clean and moisturized. I will definitely keep purchasing it.

My wife has an on-going dispute with her hair; it's naturally curly, too much so she thinks, and especially so on high humidity days. Don't even mention coastal New England fog -- she claims her hair "shrinks to her head."
She found "Hair Rules" no-suds shampoo and wanted to try it out. She seems to be generally happy with it and will re-order it. From my viewpoint, her hair certainly looks very good and she seems to be more at peace with it.

Pleasant to use, pricey, but as the only good choices for curly hair I'm aware of are No Poo and Low Poo by Devachan (also very good), I'm willing to pay the price for now.
