5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible!!!, February 12, 2002
By

This review is from: halfway to nowHere (Audio CD)
"Halfway to NoWHERE" is fun, moving, and lyrically captivating. Each track featured on the album has special meaning that will win your heart and bring tears to your eyes. Jack McTamney is truly talented and has a poetic, soothing, humorous way with words and a distinct, unique, lovable voice that will stick with you forever. Jim Fogarty on lead guitar is riveting, making each note so enticing, it'll have you on the edge of your seat, begging for more! "A Boy and his Dog," "February's Child," "Streets of Gold," "Mr. Ford," "Jeanette," all rich in character and composition; give you a sense of completeness that keeps you feeling great the whole day through! "Hell" will have you laughing, yearning to be at the pub with your friends. The "neo-classic rock with folk pretensions" sounds like a mix of Irish, country, rock and roll that's genuine and refreshing. This album deserves 5++ stars; fun for the whole family (including the Dog)!

5.0 out of 5 stars I WANT MORE!!!, February 17, 2002

This review is from: halfway to nowHere (Audio CD)
Halfway To NowHere goes straight to the heart.
As a songwriter, Jack works his craft like a master shipbuilder, the end product of which is an amazing journey on a pop music sea to uncharted ports of the heart and soul, both yours and his. His vocals are pure, warm, raw and unique. I get the feeling when I listen to him sing that there's usually a gleam in his eye and a half-smile on his lips. In a culture where so many of our gilded poser pop icons blab on and on about "positiveness", as if it's a real word, and not just something that they just heard some other poser say, these songs ARE......without ever using the "P" word. They lift you up, sometimes with lyrics, sometimes with stunning musical acumen. Jack's power chording rhythms coupled with Jim Fogarty's soaring, searing, goose bump popping lead and slide guitar and mandolin make for a rock solid flight deck on this ship to NowHere. Bassist, Walt Rich and drummer, Roger Cox and producers McTamney, Rich and Fogarty pull it all together to make this CD captivating and an "Instant Classic" for any treasure hunters. I want more.

The various songs in this CD keep playing through my mind -- I can't get enough of them. Jack McTamney reaches to the depths of his soul in these songs, and the results are absolutely beautiful and haunting. You sense both the human and the Divine in these unforgettable melodies.
