THE CONCEPT of ingestible beauty is gradually gaining acceptance. According to Datamonitor, 2005 sales of oral beauty supplements were $767.6 million in Europe compared with $741.9 million in the U.S. and will reach $1.16 billion in 2010. Growth drivers include consumer's need to stop the aging process, their fondness for natural products and their belief that only limited benefits come from slathering creams and lotions on the body.
