Wonderful set!,

This is a wonderful set of cookware. Definately heavy duty with even heating and a very pretty finish. Better than my Farberware. I did not experience any heating of the handles or pot lids. Came out of dishwasher looking like new. Would definately recommend to a friend.

Do you know how hard it is to find a set of pots and pans that does not include one or more frying pans? Do you know how many sets contain small (1 quart) pans? Probably not, and neither did I until my husband and needed to replace ours. (The answers to those questions - quite difficult, and precious few!) We didn't want frying pans, because we prefer cast iron and have cast iron skillets in a variety of sizes. Due to wear and a variety of kitchen incidents, we were down to four mix-and-match pots and pans, some with lids and some without; we were ready to get a good, matched set that had all of the sizes we wanted.
This set was the only one we could find that did not include one or more frying pans and had a small pan; quite frankly, we were concerned about the effectiveness of the glass lids. Our concern turned out to be unfounded - in fact, the glass lids reduce the need to peek under the lid to see how the cooking is going. The only complaint we have about this set of pots and pans is that the handles are not sufficiently insulated... we usually use pot holders to pick them up or lift the glass lids (hence the four-star rating). The pans heat and cook evenly, and they haven't been scratched by the metal spoons that we often use to stir foods. Other than the overly-warm handles, we're completely happy with the set... we've been using them since a week or so before Christmas, and they still look great. |
