Out of curiosity, I tried doing a Google search using the instructions in several of the recipes. The recipes appear to have all been copied from a site called Recipe Goldmine. Although it's possible there is a connection between the app developer and the website, I rather doubt that, as Recipe Goldmine has a US contact address, while hidtechs has an Indian address. I have sent an e-mail to the owner of the website and will update this review with their reply once I receive it.

The app contains numerous instances where it's supposed to display an accented character but doesn't have the proper coding for it, resulting in gibberish, for instance, saute' becomes sautA(C). The developer didn't even bother to proof-read the recipes.

EDIT: I received this reply from the owner of Recipe Goldmine: "No, I did not give permission for those recipes to be used."

The app is a mostly well organized database of recipes. End of story. It provides no description of how the dishes taste. It provides no pictures to gauge how the meal would be presented.

The recipes are easy to read and follow. But until the dev provides additional info, you would have no idea of why you would want to prepare such a dish. Here are two examples. Chicken Loaf and Boiled cookies. Maybe they are great, but the names sound awful.

I come away with the impression that the dev has never tasted the dishes because their flavor is never described. Oh, and the comment about Mostly well organized refers to the fact that the search functions scattered around are not consistent in finding recipes in the database. One search in desserts for cookies found zero. After finding cookies from a higher level they started showing up.

Okay, so FAOTD, I'll try it; I see that it has "sugar free" recipes in there, it might be interesting to see what they have. However, one of their recipes (diet soda cake) is this:

1 box cake mix
1 can diet soda
Mix. Bake.

SERIOUSLY?! Most of their "sugar free" recipes are just that: get a box or package, open it up, prepare, eat. Another sugar free recipe actually says one ingredient is "liquid sugar to equal 1 1/2 cups sugar" WHO IS WRITING THESE RECIPES?
