I just bought sennheiser 130 wireless headphones I have a sony 40 xbr lcd, directv hd dvr, a ps3 hooked up to my sony htss360 how do I HOOK UP THE HEADPHONES to my sony home theater all are hooked up via hdmi
from what I can tell (I haven't received mine yet) that this receiver has no audio out at all other than HDMI, no headphones, no RCA out, it's the only negative to me for this system as the rest is exactly what I need. It's too bad it's missing it would be simple to add.
If you want to listen to headphones from your PS3 anyway you can plug in the cables that came with the PS3 which is what I do, and get a female to female 3.5mm to RCA adapter (like 3.5Mm Stereo Splitter Audio Adapter, 6 Inch ) then plug your headphones into that. and set your PS3 to multiple audio output at the same time and it'll output to both HDMI and the RCA at the same time. This is the only workaround for this setup that I can think of. It's annoying but it'll work for your movies/games but not TV sound.
I have a Sony 40 also but bottom of the line model. It has optical and RCA outputs. You could connect RCA cable and run them to a stereo and use your stereo aux. I ran my headphone to an old small amp that has a headphone jack since I don't own a regular stereo any more. In short anything that will take RCA inputs and has a headphone jack output will work. Since my Sony is a cheaper model I'd bet you also have those outputs.
