Update 3/30/2011: I emailed customer support at i.Sound and they informed me that they are developing a dock adaptor to make the dock compatible with the iPad 2. They offered to send me an adaptor for free when it is ready. I asked when they expected to ship the adaptor, but received no reply and it has been a week. I'll update again when I have any news.

Update, 3/21/2011: My replacement unit arrived today (thanks, Amazon!) and, sad to say, it works no better with the iPad 2. I don't think it is the fault of the charging station; it simply doesn't seem compatible with the newest iPad. That's probably because the iPad 2 is slimmer than the original, and just that difference in thickness is enough to unbalance the way the new iPad sits in the dock: it leans back and loses the charging connection. I think it might be possible to jury rig a fix to make up for the gap, but I plan to contact the manufacture first. It really is too bad that this doesn't work with the iPad 2 as it is a handsome dock that otherwise works well and clears up cord clutter.

Original review, 3/19/2011: I don't know if I just happened to receive a defective product or if this just isn't compatible with the new iPad 2 device, but my iPad 2 does not charge in the dock. The iPad is not in a case, for what it's worth. If I insert the iPad very carefully, it will sometimes display the charging icon for a moment before I hear a beep and it loses the charging connection. My iPhone 4 charges in the dock without any problem. It is in a case, and wouldn't fit in the dock if I were to use any of the included adapters with it. Rather than have to remove the iPhone from its case each time I want to dock it, I just don't use an adaptor.

On the whole, the i.Sound iPad Power View Pro Charge Station looks great and feels extremely solid - much more than I expected. The horizontal iPad holder works great and is hidden when not in use. If only the vertical iPad dock would charge my device! I'm going to send it back in exchange for another and hope that the next one works. I'll update my review depending on how things work out with the replacement unit. Meanwhile, I'd be very interested in hearing if anyone else has managed to get this work with their iPad 2.

Bought this product to consolidate some of my devices to a single charging station. I've used it to charge my iPad, iPhone and BlackBerry all at the same time. Ideally, this can be located in your bedroom and you can charge everything overnight. The only drawback, and this would most likely be the same on any such product - the station is designed to charge the devices without covers or protectors, etc... I doubt many folks use their iPad or iPhone without a cover of some type, so if you want to use this station, you must remove the device from it's protective cover. I found this to be somewhat of a pain and reverted to using the original charges and cables. I would label all such charging stations as a "sounds and looks neat" device but really impractical to use.

I just received this docking station via Amazon prior to today. It was during this time in which i noticed a review on this item stating that it does not work with the new Ipad 2. I have one of these (Black 64gb model wi-fi) and it works without any such problem stated by that user. I hope this clears things up and I would like to furthermore say that this is a beautiful docking station and I highly recommend those who are looking for a good charging station for their Ipad, Ipad 2, Iphone, Itouch, or any of the assorted items.
