Pros: fabulous sound, good volume, great portability, line-in jack for use with other devices, remote control, lightweight, charges and syncs iPod if plugged into computer

Cons: easily knocked off balance due to design and light weight

I have had this product for about 2 years and LOVE IT. I use it both plugged in and as a portable unit using battery power. That flexibility is wonderful. The sound is fabulous - so good that I use it as a speaker with my laptop when using it on the go as well. I use it for all types of music and am happy with the sound.

My original one stopped working, but likely it was because I have dropped it on more than one occasion (it is very light and somewhat easily knocked off-balance do to the design). I love it so much I have to get another one, which I will keep away from the edge of tables!

Another of its great features is the line-in jack so you can use it with any mp3 player, etc. I've even used it with my "boombox" because the sound is better than the built-in speakers.

Finally, I had the same problem someone mentioned with the nano plate not fitting my nano. However, if I leave it in the case it doesn't fit with that plate anyway. I tend to just play with the different plates (6 or more came with it) and find what fits best. There's always the line-in jack also (but the remote will not work then).

The remote works only when iPod is docked, not with anything plugged in via the line-in jack.

sound is rather good, 4 stars seems appropriate.

it's just that out of the 9 iPod docking spacers, none fit the 4th generation iPod nano.

This is a great speaker system for the iPod. It is light weight, easily used, good-looking and puts out great sound. The only drawback is that while it will play the newer iPod 8GB Nano, it will not charge it, and it is advertised to do both. I had to send mine back, unfortunately.

Works great. Very light, only uses 4 AA batteries, comes with a remote, sounds great. The nano docking plate was sized correctly, but didn't align the connector on the ipod over the speaker connector correctly. Some JB weld and a dremel tool fixed it just fine. There are so many versions of the nano that having a nano plate that doesn't match isn't uncommon, so I wasn't surprised.

I bought this for use in my RV.

I got the speaker christmas before last and use it all the time. It works very well. In fact I am thinking of purchasing a second one. With the connecting cable I use it with my laptop for better sound. I only wish the cable was longer, but the sound is excellent and it charges quickly.
