Originally designed as a companion charging device for iTech’s iCarKit, it was quickly realized that having solar recharging capabilities for other mobile products might also be of interest to the mobile enthusiast. That is why iTech’s SolarCharger 906 comes with a windshield sunbath cradle, specially selected adhesive films for windshield-cradle mounting, suction cups for temporary mounting and 10 different adapters to charge most phones, Bluetooth devices, and other mobile electronics devices. When used with iTech’s i.CarKit 305, the SolarCharger 906 provides infinite talk time under sunlight illumination. When the sun goes down (or, while you drive in extended darkness), SolarCharger 906 delivers up to 20 EXTRA hours of talk time when paired with the i.CarKit 305! LED indicators provide internal battery fuel gauge and the SolarCharger 906 easily detaches from the windshield-cradle for portable battery backup and charging. Finally, note the extended temperature operation as some vehicles experience temperature conditions that exceed 120 degrees (F) even with the windows cracked open. iTech’s SolarCharger 906 is packaged in 80 percent Recycled Post Consumer Waste in keeping with our Green Initiative. Ok, this is my first review of an item on Amazon but I have to say I love the SolarCharger 906. It came with a ton of connectors for every phone imaginable, including my beloved BlackBerry. It has a clear plastic mounting bracket for attaching it to your car window as well.

The thing that struck me right away was how light weight it is, considering it has a built-in rechargeable battery. It fits in the palm of your hand and could not be any easier to use. Just charge it up in the sun and then plug in your phone. A full charge on this thing easily recharged my BlackBerry Tour.

This is a perfect gift for anyone you know or love that might need an emergency charger for their phone. Or for that tree hugger who wants to save the world one phone charge at a time. ;)

Bought this with high hopes. The unit charged fine, when I connected it to my one year old Verizon W 755 Motorola with the mini usb connector, the phone displayed "unathorized charger" and would not accept a charge from the 806. The customer service number on the instructions connects to a company who never heard of I Tech Solutions. The instructions clearly state it will work with Motorola phones. Could be a Verizon thing, but will never know I guess.
