The same crazy unique harmony Bobs lovers worship.,

For those of you who sing along in the shower and wish you had some real music to sing to, music that was supposed to have ample a capella flourishes, this is it. For those of you who wish a capella was more than just cheesy barbershop quartets, or even a parody or two of the old doo-wop songs, this is also it. For those of you just looking for something off the beaten-to-a-pulp musical path. . .well, you know. My personal favorites are "Vapor Carioca" (classic Bobs style, sounds like something a group of twelve year olds would make up, fun to sing along with) and "Waiting" (not typical Bobs fare--in fact it sticks out like a sore thumb--mellow, but beautiful). If you can, please see the Bobs live, because visual presentation adds so much (like the air guitar on their a capella rendition of "Purple Haze"-hilarious!), but the CDs are good for those times when you need an instant fix of comically strange.

Lyrics or Harmony? Both are 10's!,

After three years, listening to this CD just keeps getting better. With words to songs like "Late Model Love" and "Leisure Suit" to their credit, Finetti and Greene should be in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, while Lori Rivera's vocals are simply astonishing, sexy, and beautiful.

Reinventing The Bobs, once again...,

This album, as others have said, is the only studio release to feature Lori "Bob" Rivera, the simply stupendous soprano that replaced the original alto voice of the group, Janie "Bob" Scott (indeed a hard act to follow in and of itself). This album further demonstrates just how brilliant a quartet this group has become over their long history and just-how-well they work together, being filled with nearly flawless vocals and perfect harmonies -- it's a must-have for any real Bobs fan ("My I'm Large" and "Nu Wave Acapella," their debut album, being two of my other favorites from their collection).
Lori Bob is highlighted in the songs "Late Model Love," "A Change of Heart," "The Vapor Carioca," "Bumps in the Baseline" and prominently featured in "Is It Something I Said," and "Swingers." This album also features the winning title from The Bob's "song naming contest" ("There's a Nose Ring in My Soup") as well as Joe Bob's hysterical and irreverant piano piece of the infamous "Heaven's Gate" cult. Additionally, if you can find them, Lori also really shines in live versions of "Bumps in the Baseline" and "Is It Something I Said" or the babershop version of "Cowboy Lips" from her time with the group. Unfortunately, these recordings (along with many of the other Bobs' live recordings) are now fairly rare and difficult to find.
