I did considerable research regarding the purchase of a flash mp3 player.

My criteria included -

Long Battery Life (I wanted a player that used AA battery rather than AAA-I already had AA NiMH batteries and didn't want to have to buy new AAA batteries).

I wanted Recording capabilities including -

Voice recording (good quality),

Line Input - to record from other devices.

FM radio - and being able to record off the FM.

I also wanted to use it as a jump drive.

About 10 hours into my research Creative's N200 (512megs) was my top choice, then I started downloading the PDF manuals for each of the units I was researching.

Note to others! - Download the manuals first and it will save you tons of time.

After looking through the manuals for features and making a spreadsheet to compare features I came to the following conclusion.

The IAudio G-3 by Jetaudio (jetaudio.com) Cowon was by far the best choice of any compact, Flash-MP3 player I researched.

I purchased the G-3 (256-Megs).

I compared -

Creative Muvo N200-512, MuVo V200-512,

I-River IFP-1095, IFP- I-River IFP190T, IFP795, IFP895, IFP995,

MelodiStik SD6000 series (512-megs)

Walmart's ILO (128megs - least expensive player with expansion capabilities)

None of the other MP3 players came close to the features of the I-Audio G3.

I can't begin to go into the features of the G-3 - (see the manual instead). I will mention a few things -

USB 2.0 for fast file transfer.

- The estimated battery life (50 hours on 1 AA battery - included - IT IS THE LONGEST BATTERY LIFE I HAVE SEEN FOR AN SMALL MP3 PLAYER) -

- You can monitor the voltage left on the battery via -"information Screen" on the unit, you also have the option to recharge the battery via the USB cable.

Jetaudio shipped the G-3 via UPS and arrived exactly when promised. I am exceptionally pleased with the player/recorder and have barely put it down in the few days I have had it.

Jetaudio also had a firmware update on their website that fixed some bugs and added a bunch of features including 6 different recording quality options each for voice, radio and line input (ADPCM wave format is supported. WAVE 8kHz, 11kHz, 16kHz, 32kHz as well as MP3 96kbps, 112kbps and 128kbps are added to the recording quality). The player has "autosync" to automatically start your line in recording as soon as the player senses sound.

Other great features that are packed into the G3 are -

Easy navigation between screens - picked it up right away - didn't need the manual.

Large, easy to read LCD screen with lots of information. ID3v1, and ID3v2 tag support, bitrate listed, battery indicator (also you check out the actual measure voltage left in the battery by going to the info screen - I have never seen that on another MP3 player!

Clock-

Alarm wake up to MP3 music or the FM Radio. It can also be programmed to automatically record off the FM player once, or daily.

Lyrics - The unit will display the lyrics across the screen (haven't figured out how to use that feature yet).

Bookmarks - you can place up to 20 bookmarks in files - great feature for listening to audio books.

JetEffects -

EQ -Normal, Rock, Voc, Pop, Classical, Jazz, User

BBE - Sound effect that makes music clearer.

Mach3Base - Base boosting effect that reinforces superbase frequencies.

MP Enhance - Sound field effect that compensates for lost parts of sound.

3D-Surround sound

Pan - Left and Right Balance

Play Speed Control - you can very the play speed plus or minus 10 -(have not seen this feature on other players.)

The G-3 gives you a large number of options for every feature so you can customize your sound experience.

I do wish they would have included an armband for the player so I could use it during exercise -but I can get one after market.

I did have trouble installing the I-Audio G3 software. The install locked up my computer, but I was able to install it by running each of the set up files individually.

Luckily I can just drag and drop the music files on the player.

My only regret is that I didn't have the money to purchase the 1gig unit.

Great Job IAudio! When it comes time to purchase another MP3 player Jetaudio will be the first place that I look.

I did a lot of research before selecting this mp3 player as my first. It has many useful features (see above). I have been using it for about 3 weeks and so far no regrets...well except I wish I had the money to get one with more memory. I've used the player for music and as a storage device for my data files and it works pretty well. The sound quality is quite good and the radio recording quality impressed me. And I love the extended battery life (up to 35 hours on a single AA battery)

When I ordered this item, it took quite a while to receive it! When received, the item worked for a short time then stopped.

I asked for a replacement and was told to download a return shipping label. I was not able to do this so your staff said they would send me a label in the mail. I waited for quite a while but never received the label. When asked why, staff said to send the item myself and you would credit my account. I wrote back saying I did not want a credit and to send me a label. I am STILL WAITING for the label to come!!?? I will dispute the charge if it is on my credit card so please send me the label!!

I am not pleased with the service I am receiving from your company!!
