8GB of RAM is all you need to run any game out there. The processor is not bad. You can easily run two games at the same time if you want to. 1TB hard drive will be more than enough to store everything you need in years. 5400rpm HD however might be a little slow when you start the game or any program but it won't feel much different from the 7200rpm ones.
The only real let down is the 480W power supply which can prevent you from upgrading your own pc. But the power supply itself is not that expensive to buy if you really want to upgrade your spec. So this is not rally that much of a problem.
Two important things to note. First, the product description makes no mention of the networking features. Because it seemed to be the trend with computers I was looking at, I assumed this came with built-in wireless, but it only comes with a wired ethernet connection, so I had to go out and buy a USB wireless card the day it arrived. I still would have bought the computer, but it would have been nice to have time to shop around for the card.
Second, that blue coloration in the side of the case is not blue plastic, it is actually a pair of BRIGHT BLUE LEDs in the intake fan. I really wish manufacturers would stop making stuff like that. It might look cool for all of five seconds, but after that you've just got a bunch of excess light coming out of your computer. Fortunately, I'm at a point where I no longer need to leave my computer on all night, and with resumption from hibernation being so quick these days (at least on this computer), it really isn't any inconvenience to put the computer into hibernation at night.Read more ›
The first machine I received looked fine, but it wouldn't turn on because of faulty motherboard.
The second machine that I got took a while to get, but the second I plugged it in and hit "power.." it started sparking itself to death under a second. Hell, that's kind of a hazard in itself.
So, at the moment, i've gotten two dead units and all I'm getting is a refund and now an exchange that's going to take another week after the first week getting the first one..
Either way, I'm rating this a 1 out of 5 stars for simply being 2 our of 2 failing for me.
Many reviews here have brought up the PSU, and I have two things to say about that. First, if you intend to use the system as in with no immediate upgrades, the PSU is fine and in no way needs to be changed. I've had the system for three days now, and for the first two of those days, I used the included PSU with no problems whatsoever, not a single one. The only reason, and I want to stress only reason, I switched it out is the fact that the system I was replacing had a near brand new 600 watt supply, so I put that into it and will keep the included one as a backup. If you do intend to upgrade your video card or other components, you will, one day, need a new PSU, but the system as it ships is completely fine and the included power supply will give you everything you need.Read more ›

No video signal out of box. I had to open the case and then realized the video card wasn't properly installed. I guess I got an idea of their quality control from this. Read morePublished on May 21, 2013 by douxin98
