This review is from: iCandy FM Transmitter for iPhone and iPod with Car Charger (Electronics)
Just find an empty FM frequency on your car or home stereo, plug in the transmitter to your iPhone, tune the transmitter to a matching frequency and you can now listed to MP3s or YouTube from your iPhone. The Transmitter has around 8 ft of transmitting range on direct site to the target stereo. The sound quality is pretty good up to max transmitting range at which point it drops rapidly. The Transmitter goes to sleep around 1 minute after idle. The Transmitter works as a car charger even on sleep mode. However it works out of your iPhone's battery, so it does not need to be connected to the charger in order to work. The provide mini USB to USB cable can be detach from the car charger and plug into any USB Home Charger that you own. On long travels it is a bit frustrating finding empty FM Frequencies to Tune into. It may be irrelevant to most of us but it may be something to consider for truck drivers and those people with long commutes. Over all, I am pretty happy with my purchase.

Don't Bother,

Don't waste your $20 on this transmitter. I honestly cannot believe it has a 4-star rating (note that the rating is based on only a handful of customer reviews). Before you buy, be sure to check out other feedback on this SAME item that is sold from multiple sellers via Amazon (that feedback is more consistent with mine). When using this transmitter, there is constant interference (even when it is plugged into the charger). When it is not plugged in, the interference is simply intolerable. In addition to the static, the music sounds weak and muffled (no matter where the unit is placed in the car). I have tried to use this transmitter for three days now -- and it has done nothing but frustrate me. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars is because it doubles as a charger.

I researched several fm tranmitter models before purchasing this one. I'm glad I purchased this one! Set-up was easy...I found an available station, plugged in the transmitter, and the music instantly played through my car stero speakers. The clarity and the quality of the sound were better than I expected. I have experienced very little static. If you purchase this product, invest in a case with a bottom that can be easily removed. The transmitter works better when the bottom portion of the iPhone is not in a case.I would definitely reccomend this produt to other iPhone users. I'm sure that on long trips I may need to find differnet FM stations, but that is no fault of the equipment...simply the nature of the service.

It is great when not connected to the charger, when connected to the charger to charge the Ipod touch, it gives a buzzing sound. Had to return it.

Truthfully I bought it , expecting it to work as an fm transmitter, but not to charge my Ipod touch 2nd gen. But low and behold it does both. The Ipod supplies the power as a stand alone unit (no plug in necessary). Surprisingly it doesn't draw the ipod battery down quickly. When the battery on the ipod is out, you just plug the included plug into your car outlet and you can keep playing music while charging. I make a point of this because of all the problems I (and others) have had with 2nd gen touches, not supporting charging on older devices (my current car stereo and current speaker/dock.)It is super light weight. The only small negative I can mention is as a tranmitter it is not super powerful. It gets staticy depending on where it is placed in car, but easy enough to position elsewhere. My car antenna is in the back windshiled if anyone cares about that. It was cheap as heck and well worth every penny.

I tested it at home on my stereo and got it to work OK, though only with a few feet of range. In the car, reception was poor and basically useless. Since that was the main desired application, it's overall a flop.

Best FM transmitter I've tried so far, but it ain't perfect,

The sound quality is great, and this gizmo is far better than the other three FM transmitters I've purchased previously. However, it's too wide to sit below the foot brackets of a car-mounting device, and it does not fully click into an iPhone sporting a hard-shell case (it will still work, though). That you can scan every FM frequency is BIG plus, although, be aware that the charging cord that comes with it will NOT charge a 3GS iPhone.

I have been using this for 6 days now in my work vehicle and have had no problems. I live in a medium size city and have lots of radio chatter but have not found any problems. I have a more expensive transmitter from Belkin that I have had for over ten years and use in my personal vehicle. Although I have not experimented, I do believe that the Belkin would be more powerful. I like this because it attaches to the base of the Ipod Touch and I can take the whole unit with me instead of having two seperate pieces and a cord.

This transmitter does what it says and says what it does. I've had two since the first one I had was stolen from my xterra. It works best in rural areas, and does not compete with strong radio signals that well. That being said, I keep it in the 88.1 - 88.9 range and it generally works like a charm unless i'm running through a big city. it charges your ipod or iphone. It also doubles as a charger for certain items that correspond, as well as a universal USB charger. you can take the transmitter off the wire and play your pod or phone through any radio device.

This thing works great if you keep the Ipod plugged into the charger part. I found it to be full of static otherwise. Who doesn't want to keep their Ipod charged? I see no real down side.
