I got this because my grandson likes the iCarly show and is fascinated by buttons, noisemakers, sound effects, etc. He specifically asked for this gift. It seems strong and well made, but not especially educational. He enjoys making the sound effects.
I purchased it through Amazon because I could not find it in any local store. It's really good to know there's a place for obtaining hard-to-find items.

There are very few shows that my entire household enjoys. When you've got two 30-something year old parents, a 9 year old son and a 6 year old daughter, you're dealing with a lot of different types of attitudes. iCarly is one of the few shows that we all enjoy watching together! My youngest saw Sam's remote and instantly wanted it. She is a huge fan of Sam. We purchased the remote and were pleasantly surprised by it! First of all, it's very solid. It's not really heavy, per se, but it's definitely sturdy in your hand. She hasn't dropped it (yet) so I'm not sure how it will hold up over time, but so far it's held up beautifully.

A big positive? IT HAS AN OFF BUTTON! So many kids toys that make noise don't have off buttons, but Sam's remote does! Big kudos to whomever added that little addition to the toy. In the remote that we bought, there are little gems that you can use to "bling out" the remote. Being an artsy person, my daughter adored that. What's funny is that now everyone in the house is using Sam's remote to let others know what we're feeling! In a bad mood? Use the "boo" button. Happy about something? How about some applause! It's a really fun little gadget that both of my children love playing with, and if mommy happens to push the buttons every once in awhile, well, what's wrong with that?

My 10 year old daughter is a big fan of iCarly. When she got the remote, she carried it around all week pushing the buttons to bring the response to wanted to all situations. I found myself liking the product. Imagine trying on a new outfit and hitting the applause button. Good toy for kids that like to video tape their own "shows"
