Editorial Reviews

iSoundtrack II features music from the wildly popular TV show, iCarly, starring teen sensation Miranda Cosgrove, as well as tracks inspired by iCarly from today's biggest hitmakers like Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Taio Cruz.

iCARLY iSoundtrack II Music From And Inspired By The Hit TV Show was executive produced by Dr. Luke (P!nk, Avril Lavigne) and Miranda Cosgrove. This album will premiere two new and original Miranda Cosgrove songs, "Million Dollars" and "All Kinds Of Wrong" written by pop mastermind Max Martin (Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys). The release will also include the Billboard remix of the series' infectious theme song, "Leave It All To Me" by Miranda Cosgrove featuring Drake Bell, as well as Miranda's catchy hit single "Dancing Crazy." Fans will also be treated to a full cast rendition of Diddy- Dirty Money's "Coming Home."

"You PMS, like a GIRL, I would know." Been looking for this version for a long time. Thanks iCarly! Never seen the show and never heard the other songs yet but we will listen to the whole album.

This attempt to make more money off iCarly is disappointing--it is filled with mostly edited songs from adult singerss that have nothing to do with the show, along with a couple old Miranda Cosgrove songs, a few other cast songs that came out a long time ago and only a couple "new" songs. Namely, you pay $10 for a couple songs. Download them individually instead--and if you are a parent be careful because there are some "clean" versions of tunes that are not really for kids.

The cast version of Coming Home is great and the only thing to buy off of this. There's a dance remix of the show's theme song (kind of repetitive and uninteresting). Then there's the country version of Cosgrove's Shakespeare, where she attempts to sound like Taylor Swift. But what is Katy Perry, The Ting Tings, Leona Lewis, Taio Cruz and Ke$sha doing on this album? I know Ke$ha was on the show once but Blow isn't exactly a kids' song.

It's too bad Nickelodeon doesn't put together a real CD that contains songs from just the cast that is appropriately marketed to the young audience. That would have been more fun and interesting.

This was an interesting CD, mixing original cast recordings with songs from other artists. I wonder why they included a track by The Black Kids, as I'm pretty sure most of their songs are not kid-friendly, and this one may inspire a young listener to Google that band and discover more of their songs. Also was very amused by the iCarly cast doing a cover of "Coming Home."

The second iCarly soundtrack is a bit of a disappointment. The two best songs: Miranda Cosgrove's "Dancing Crazy" and Jennette McCurdy's "Generation Love" were earlier available as EP/MP3 download so most fans probably already have them. There are a few more songs from the cast, but nothing as good as songs from Miranda's EP or Jenette's solo work. They also add a bunch of pop tunes in edited versions (like Hot'n'Cold) and a remix of the theme, which adds up to 13 songs. There are no entertaining cast dialogs like on the first CD. So basically its a CD for the most loyal fans, but nothing more. And after buying it you will still be thirsty for new hits by Miranda and Jennette.
