I can confirm it works with 220V.

I just tried mine without the power plugged in, and it worked OK with the track ball that is plugged into it. However, I suspect that any device that requires power from the USB bus (like an self-powered hard drive) would NOT work unless the hub itself is powered.

I guesstimate about 10 feet. Sorry, but if I get into the spaghetti of cables behind my computer I might get entangled forever. And by the way, I have started having trouble with this USB. Some peripherals that I plug in are not read by the computer. And then if I connect them directly to the confuser, then they are recognized. Have not asked for a fix or refund for living in Panama the cost of repatriation of the product is prohibitive; so in earnest I can not really fault the manufacturers.

YES, It is very well shielded. I have had absolutely no issues. All other have been nothing but problems. Just make certain you use all shielded cables for the devices connected to this hub. ..
