This review is from: iGaging Digital Magnetic Level + Protractor + Bevel Gauge (3 in 1 tool) (Misc.)
This device does exactly what it was advertised for, it works as a digital level, while at the same time being able to measure angle between two planes, for example table saw and a saw blade. The magnet helps it hold to iron/steel surfaces.Pros: - Precise within 0.2deg (tested this using much more precise and expensive level) - Easily readable display - Sturdy design, and a nice box to keep it in, along with a Philips screwdriver for battery replacement. - You can combine it with a regular vial type masonry level to achieve better accuracy when the length is a requirement Cons: - It arrived with the dead battery, (I was afraid it was DOA) - but once I replaced the battery everything was OK.

A technical review of specification performance.,
By
This review is from: iGaging Digital Magnetic Level + Protractor + Bevel Gauge (3 in 1 tool) (Misc.)
Interested in the technical aspects rather than the application aspects, I performed a conformance test to see if the product met the claimed specifications. These results apply only to the test article (my personal Cube), and while inferences can be made for other Cubes, there is certainly no guarantee. On the other hand, it is not unreasonable to expect similar results from other Cubes from this manufacturer. The conclusion is that my Angle Cube meets the manufacturer's specification. This means I have full confidence in the instrument. However, the user is responsible for accounting for all other influences that might affect the reading. You can read on for the test specifics. A precision angle block set, Starrett master level, surface plate, and precision tilt table were used. The Cube was tested for deviation at 0 through 45 degrees in 5° intervals, in CW/CCW directions using angle blocks and surface plate, and from 10° to 20° in 1° intervals in CW/CCW directions using the tilt table. The surface plate test area and tilt table platen were level/perpendicular to 10 arc seconds. Ten arc seconds is approx. 0.17 arc minutes/ 0.003°. The errors contributed by the angle blocks and tilt table were negligible. The ratio of measuring equipment accuracy to the Angle Cube accuracy specification, ±0.2°, was >10 to 1 (much greater...). My Angle Cube measurement results: LEVEL Mode (Angle with respect to local gravity, not an arbitrary surface) No measurement exceeded 0.1° deviation from the reference angle. No repeat measurement exceeded a 0.10° delta (difference from previous readings at the same angle). The Cube frame was square. The sensor was square (aligned) to the frame. On the surface plate, with each side resting on the plate in-turn, each 90° rotation resulted in a display change of 90.00° through a 360° rotation. The display flipped when the angle exceeded ±90° from 0 or 180 to give a right-side-up view, as advertised. ZERO (BEVEL) Mode (Angle with respect to a reference surface, like a table top, which may not be level, just flat) The Zero mode worked well. No bevel exceeded 0.1° from the true delta. Additional notes: LEVEL Mode. The Cube was turned off and then back on at a new angle. The Cube "knew" where it was and indicated the new angle correctly. ANY MODE: The display did not always reach stability right away. Sometimes as much as 15 seconds were needed, but generally 5 or so seconds was enough. The magnets all held very well, but on very smooth surfaces, one of my sides slid down the metal wall. The Cube can be tilted back or forward up 60° before the reading displays ERR. However, if during tilting it goes out of plane, the reading will be false. This was observed on the surface plate. In ZERO Mode, if the reading indicates anything other than the current reading and does not go directly to 0.00, you may have accidentally moved the Cube when you pressed ZERO. Try again. All-in-all, I am very happy with the Angle Cube. It serves my anal-retentive-knife-sharpening needs well!

good product. I like the small size and built in magnets. Hard to see in dim light. Overall I like it a lot and will probably buy a second one.

This is a great little angle finder. It will let you zero it to any plane and then make adjustments relative to the plane. I use it on both my table saw and chop saw to make sure I have 90 degree cuts relative to the saw table. Most of the time the table is not level with a standard level and making it level every time I use it would drive me nuts. With this little gadget setting up your saw is a snap. I highly recommend this to wood workers or machinists.I would definitely buy this item again.

this gauge is far superior to the Wixey angle gauge i bought a year ago. this is the second one i've purchased. when my retired machinist turned woodworker buddy saw it, he replaced his Wixey angle gauge also. i think Igaging will see more of our business.

Haven't used any other digital levels, but this one displays a little more accuracy than some of the other cubes and has a solid metal case. Magnets work OK, the cube is a little heavier since it's metal I'm sure so while the magnets help hold it on metal, it won't stick particularly well to the side of your refrigerator or upside down or anything. Overall it works great, flip it upside down and the display flips upside down.

Works great turns on automatically and easy to use. Magnet around all sides is great too. Must by. Had some curtain rode to put up was a quick easy job did not need a second person to be sure or rely on the celling to be my mark.

I purchased this item to help me adjust blade pitch angles for my RC helicopters. I am overall very happy with its performance.Specs: (measured with digital caliper and scale) 56 mm wide for all 4 sides (its a perfect square) 30 mm depth 6-3/4 oz (approx. 188.8 grams) weight The product documentation claims: Resolution: 0.05 degrees Repeatability: 0.05 degrees Accuracy: +/- 0.1 degree It comes with a vinyl pouch, and includes the 9volt battery. Compared to other similar products which use button type batteries, 9volt batteries are more readily available and last longer, but are also heavier. It has magnets on both sides and the bottom (no magnets on the top) I particularly like that it measures the absolute angle, so it can do what a regular bubble level can do (measure 0 degrees relative to the earth), and any angle relative to this level. Of course, it gives you the ability to "Zero" on any particular angle, and measure a relative angle to that zeroed angle. The documentation also reads "U.S.A. Made Navigational Sensor", so made in the USA.

Be careful with the readings.,

The angle cube is handy, but be sure to use the same side of the cube for comparisons. I obtain different readings if use the left and then the right side of the cube.

I purchased the iGaging Digital 3 in 1 tool based on the reviews here, and I couldn't be much happier. I use mine on a home made wheel alignment device...works like a charm. The magnet is strong enough that I didn't have to build a holding bracket on my alignment tool. I do have to say, however, the sides of the iGaging tool are machined so smooth that it will not hold firm to equally smooth metal surfaces...it slides. I have also used it on top of a standard level...much easier than reading the bubble. I tried buying one of these on eBay first, but couldn't beat the price here at Amazon...this is a recurring theme lately. I highly recommend this tool to anyone needing to measure level or vertical angles...it is versatile, well built, and very accurate.
