iGo Tip for the Kindle 2, Kindle DX, Motorola RAZR2, Q2, and KRAZR2

This is the iGo power tip which supports micro-USB, which is the data+power socket standard used for the new Kindle 2. (Micro-USB is an even thinner version of mini-USB.)

I bought an A97 tip for use with my old iGo Everywhere Universal Wall Charger as a spare AC charger for my Kindle 2.

Update on 2/24/09: My Kindle 2 arrived today and I can confirm that the A97 Tip fits as expected and is now happily charging up my Kindle 2.

Note that this tip isn't useful on its own. iGo sells a variety of power chargers and also small connectors (called "tips") that connect the chargers to specific electronic devices. The chargers and the tips are sold separately. The idea is that instead of carrying a separate power charger for each device you own, you can carry one iGo charger plus connecting tips for your various devices.

Already had the iGo charger but needed a different tip when I got a new phone. This worked great with the Motorola Droid.

I use the A97 iGo micro-USB Tip with the iGo Car Charger for my HTC Nexus One. The connection between the tip and charger is very secure as is the connection between the tip and the phone.

Great product, watch out for the compatibility issues on the different chargers. Make sure your charger works with the blue dot tips.

This tip (A97) works on any Micro-USB device, including of course the new Motorola DROID.

Quick note, this DOES work for the Palm Pre, but there is a trick to it. Put the phone into power save mode FIRST (push the power button and the screen goes black) THEN turn on the iGo and insert into the phone. Good Luck!

I brought 3 of these tips for my Droid X but clearly the parts are poorly matched and manufactured. They each worked for about a month, enough time to lose out on the warranty and then suddenly the fit is so loose that they no longer charge my phone unless I hold it in place!
Igo has a great idea and the chargers are awesome but without working tips, what's the point? I'll never buy another one again after wasting almost $40 on three tips in a row! Horrible!!!

While some people have reported compatibility problems between iGo and their Kindle 2s, for me it works with my Kindle 2, Kindle DX and now my Kindle 3. So, make sure it actually works before you go on a trip! Also, iGo worked for me with my Kindle 1 using the Kindle 1 compatible tip.

I bought this micro-USB tip and it seem to be working fine for some of my micro-USB devices like a Blackberry Bold and Motorola bluetooth headset. For some reason, it will not charge my Kindle 2. It seems that other people have had this issue as well. I don't know if the issue is with the tip, the iGo charger, or the Kindle 2. In any case, this seems like a relatively common problem based on the other reviews.
