4.0 out of 5 stars nice quality
The set is a nice quality foam, and when comparing prices this is a good value. The belt is nice because you can arrange the floats or remove some to make it just right for your needs. The barbells have a nice resistance. The carry bag is very handy. The only thing I probably won't use much is the ankle weights because I could not seem to get them to stay tight, and the...

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING DO NOT BUY
This set is a scam. Do NOT buy. I was especially disappointed with the ankle weights. That was the reason why I bought the set to begin with. The ankle weights should be called ankle floats because it has NO weight. I had to buy real waterproof ankle weights so in the end I end up spending like $70. So what I recommend is that you buy the foam dumbbells and ankle weights...

The set is a nice quality foam, and when comparing prices this is a good value. The belt is nice because you can arrange the floats or remove some to make it just right for your needs. The barbells have a nice resistance. The carry bag is very handy. The only thing I probably won't use much is the ankle weights because I could not seem to get them to stay tight, and the straps were long and floating around in an annoying manner. The ankle weight is one thick foam piece that needs to bend around the ankle but it wants to spring back which loosens the strap. If it were small blocks like the belt, it might work better. On the plus side, the foam is not under your foot so it is easy to walk around while wearing them. Maybe I'll see what I can do to modify them and shorten the straps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, January 29, 2011

Bought this product to help me recover from a knee injury, and also needed arm exercises since I am on crutches. The dumbbells are great; the foot weights are a bit cumbersome; I can't get them to wrap around my foot so they are not sticking out, but that's ok. I am able to use these in our hot tub and work on my legs.

This set is a scam. Do NOT buy. I was especially disappointed with the ankle weights. That was the reason why I bought the set to begin with. The ankle weights should be called ankle floats because it has NO weight. I had to buy real waterproof ankle weights so in the end I end up spending like $70. So what I recommend is that you buy the foam dumbbells and ankle weights separately. I gotta admit, the best part are the dumbbells because they have a lot of resistance submerged. I suggest buying the items separately. Your money will go further that way.

3.0 out of 5 stars good belt, bad dumb-bells, March 20, 2011
This review is from: Aqua Fitness Set (Sports)
At my request my daughter got me this set (with hand, not ankle weights). Of course I could not try it until spring. On the second day the ends came off the dumb-bells. And the next time. And I glued them on and next time - off comes the end to the bottom of the pool and off floats the "bell." Last pair I had lasted almost 7 years; this one is disappointing. The belt is fine and the hand-weights are nice. When I retrieve the bell-end I'll try gluing again.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ankle weights DO work! They are supposed to float., April 19, 2011

I think you have confused the ankle weights purpose, they are supposed to be more floaty so you have to work harder to keep your legs underwater and move them. They aren't supposed to weigh your feet down, but make them rise to the surface so you have to work at keeping them under. These are designed to do exactly what you are complaining about. We use these same weights in an aqua class at the Y and believe me, they WORK your legs as you struggle to hold them under water. Give them another chance, I think you'll end up being pleased with the results. I love this set and bought it to use at our cabin in the summer when I don't get to the Y as often.
