I bought this for one reason: to use on the golf course. "Music on the golf course?" you might ask, not to crank it up, but to have some enjoyable tunes while chasing a little white ball around a cow pasture is nice. It fits in the cup holder perfectly and minds it's own business.

I was actually fairly impressed with the sound quality, it has great depth for the size of the speaker.

It's pretty loud! True, I'm not going to be able to use it as a hands-free speaker phone in my mustang, but that's not what I wanted it for. While on the golf course, I had to turn it down to below 50% volume so it wasn't overbearing. I also played it in the yard while have a small BBQ and had to turn it down there, too, so people could have conversations without having to really talk over it.

I also used it in the cup holder of my jogging stroller. I have a Jeep overland jogging stroller with the "Music On the Move" thing, and it outright sucks. My answer was to throw that "M.O.M." thing in the trash and use my iHome cupholder speaker. You know what? It worked great there, too! I also had to turn it down to just below 50% volume.

After the jog, I set it on the bathroom counter while in the shower, cranked it up to 100% and was amazed at how loud it was while I was in the shower. Yeah, it's THAT good! :P

Lastly, I haven't had to charge it yet. I charged it once to 100%, played with it a little at work to show my co-workers, played a 9-hole round of golf (about 2.5hrs), another 60-90 minutes out in the yard, 30-45 minutes jogging, 15 minutes on the counter in the bathroom, and it's still going strong!

I wish it had a battery meter so I'd know where I stand on remaining power, but overall, I'm really satisfied with this thing.

If you're looking for a speaker to listen to in your car, look somewhere else. I bought this so I could listen to Coast to Coast AM pod casts while I commute. This is barely louder than my iPad2 speaker, so as a result it's useless.

This is my first review but I couldn't pass this up. I have an older car that doesn't have bluetooth. Instead of buying all the different attachment options I saw this and thought it might do. I could not have been more right! It paired effortlessly to my iPhone 4 and within about 30 seconds I was streaming music to it. It fits perfectly in the cupholder. As one reviewer wrote, it is pretty loud for the size. I had to find a good EQ setting on my phone to balance the sound quality good but once I did that, it was amazing! I haven't tried the speaker phone portion but just having the ability for me to stream my music to it while commuting in is well worth the price! The battery life is amazing as well. One thing to note. When it is charging the booklet says the power button "flashes" indicating it is charging. It actually slowly glows brighter then dimmer, in about a 18 second cycle. So don't do like I initially did and start playing with it, just be patient.

I am on my second iHome cupholder speaker. I really do like this speaker. Like that is fits in the cup holder of my car and that the control buttons are on top of the speaker and not the side. However, after just a few months of use the speaker quits charging itself. I think the charging port on the speaker is not built well, and after a few months of use just breaks down. I am really disappointed after buying two of these and both of them did the same thing. As much as I like the speaker I won't be wasting my money on buying another. Too bad they can't seem to fix this problem.

Had this product for only a couple of months and already the charging port is broken. As I attempted to connect the charger the port collapsed inside the speaker. Now I'm unable to charge it. When it did work the speaker sounded pretty good. If you decide to buy this speaker be very careful when charging it as the port is very sensitive.

If you have an older vehicle without bluetooth, and a spare cup-holder this might work for you. Charges alright by USB (car-charger included.) Pairs easily. There is also an AUX connection but you will have to buy your own cord. Passable as a speaker-phone. If you're hoping to play your tunes don't expect to rattle any windows. Not very much volume.

If this is what you really want, no major problems with it. To be honest about it, I just think you could find a better solution at a better price.

I really wanted this device to work. I needed a Bluetooth speaker to listen to audiobooks and podcasts on my daily commute, and thought this would be the solution. Unfortunately, this device simply does not play audiobooks and podcasts at a volume that will overcome the ambient noise on a highway. The frustrating thing is that it is *almost* loud enough. If the folks who designed this device had just conducted some testing, it could have been perfect.

The device does work well in the home, but if you're looking for a Bluetooth device for your commute, this is probably not it.

I have an older car with no bluetooth, so this was an easy fix - it has a great sound, easy to use, pairs with my phone quickly and is easily portable.
