A decent, inexpensive laser mouse,

This is a decent laser mouse for a good price. I was a little wary at first because I had never heard of iHome before. Also there was not one customer review for any of their mice when I bought it, but I'd figured I'd give it a shot. It fit all criteria I was looking for:- laser - ergonomic shape and not too small - wired - no extra buttons all over the place that I never use - good price This mouse is dark metallic red and black and the scroll wheel is lit with a red light. I must say it looks pretty sharp. The scroll wheel feels great thankfully: quiet, easy to scroll and easy to click. It does not side click. At first I almost bought the Logitech MX-400 but people were complaining that the scroll wheel was way too hard to click. There are none of those side-buttons on this mouse which I'm glad because I never use them. There is a small button called DPI above the scroll wheel that speeds up the pointer. I'm never going to use it. The ergonomic shape is decent, not perfect. It won't fit as good with people with bigger hands, but there are very few affordable mice who fit the bigger hands crowd. If you have big hands it's possible you won't be overly thrilled with this mouse. It does have decent size to it though don't get me wrong, unlike all those tiny mice on the market today. Average sized hands people should be fine. It doesn't come with any software, but I haven't bought a wired mouse in years, maybe they don't come with software I don't remember. I used Windows mouse settings to make adjustments to sensitivity and things like that. The pointer moves across the page accurately, better than optical. I was expecting it to be cheap looking because of the price but the build quality is good and looks good, however here is my one complaint and why it gets 3.5 stars not 4: this mouse is as light as a feather. It's almost like it's not there. The lightness makes it feel kind of cheap. I'm going to have to get used to it because my previous mouse was a big and heavy wireless Kensington. If you're used to a heavy mouse with batteries be prepared for something very light, it might bother you, but maybe you'll actually like that it's light. Personally it does bother me a little bit, but I'm getting used to it and maybe it's better this way because it's less stress on the wrist. Overall though it's a decent, basic, laser mouse, without all the bells and whistles, and worth the price.

Pleased with IHome,

Ihome Mice - Wired Red Fast Track Laser MouseI have used a Logitech mouse for the past 6 years until it literally fell apart. I purchased the IHome fast track laser mouse because it was pretty. I didn't expect great service from it because of it's low price but I was pleasantly surprised. Although there are not a lot of optionss, it fits comfortably in my hand and tracks very accurately. I will have to wait to see how well it stands up to my constant use. So far, I love it. Dana Beth Hall

Cheapest ($) gaming mouse available,

Very nice, however contains DPI button which switches mouse sensitivity; this is also triggered by clicking the Left and Right buttons at the same time, which is sometimes done in video games. There is no way to disable this feature and their customer support hung up on me when I asked about it. Be warned.

Not for Gaming,
By
This review is from: iHome FastTrack Laser Mouse (Red) (Personal Computers)
Unbelievably, this mouse changes dpi when you hold down both left and right buttons for 2 seconds...Simply doesn't work for games; well, it works, but you always have to adjust your sensitivity when you use both buttons for whatever, for example in wow it makes your character run/move. I am rather peeved at this damn mouse. I'd give it a lower score but it is so great, except for that problem. I want to throw it away now! Luckily, i can plug multiple mouses in at the same time and just switch back and forth, so i can still use it for non-gaming, or if i train myself to not use both buttons... hahaha... piece of junk!!!!! how could you goof this up so badly?!!!!! I will likely avoid all iHome junk JUNK from now on, least until i am convinced to give them another try unbelievable!!!!

Cheap, ergonomic and reliable,

This is probably the favorite mouse I have ever bought. It is cheap, has worked perfectly for close to a year, works on dark surfaces when many laser mouses do not, and is sculpted perfectly to fit your hand. It is much more comfortable than most mouses and the scroll wheel is perfect. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a cheaper mouse with great ergonomics.

Pretty nice laser mouse!,

I'm always on the look out for nice red mouse and, while this mouse is kind of a mix between red and black, I still wanted to give it a try.I'm upgrading from an optimal mouse, a nice looking but sadly lower quality offering that I also found on Amazon. That said, moving to a laser mouse is definitely a step in the right direction. The accuracy gain is very, very tangible and I absolutely love it. Takes a little getting used to, but it's a nice upgrade either way. The DPI button to speed up the mouse tracking is also nice. I can see how it would help gaming applications, but I don't really game with it so that feature has no meaning for me. In fact, as far as gaming mice go, you definitely should stay away from this if you're looking for extra buttons because it has none. I, on the other hand, never wanted extra buttons for this application (my day to day stuff) so I was glad to find this mouse. I get the good looks, the laser accuracy and none of the extra stuff that I don't need. The price is also pretty good. Definitely check this mouse out if, like me, you're in the market for a red-ish laser mouse for day to day stuff. For gaming, however, I'd avoid it. Also, I saw another reviewer comment on the weight. They are correct, this mouse is pretty light. I don't actually care about the weight for my purpose, so it's not a deal breaker for me. If it is for you, I'd suggesting looking for something else.

The BEST corded mouse,

A little back story, I purchased this mouse after my laptop's mouse broke and it was appraised for repair at over $300. So instead the repairman told me to just bye a mouse, which I did, a logitech wireless one. It however was very unreliable and constantly fumbled my signal, so knowing that reliable was a must since I was leaving for college, I copied my brother and got the same mouse as him. And what do you know, it is perfect in pretty much every way. It doesn't need a pad to work on and will work on practically every surface, even my leg when im sitting on a chair with my laptop on top of me. I even went back to the shop where I got my laptop looked at (for a different problem) and the guy even admitted hes never used one that was so smooth. If you don't mind being a little retro with a corded mouse, this is in my opinion the best one out there.

Good mouse, but not for gamers.,
This review is from: iHome FastTrack Laser Mouse (Red) (Personal Computers)
It is a good mouse for normal everyday use, but for gamers, it's terrible. The DPI button (which adjusts the speed of your curser) will randomly switch to different settings during gameplay. There have been times where I had to pause the game (or die) to fix my mouse. Not just that, but I've only had the mouse for a few months now and already the red paint and the top coating has already started to come off. Yes, the color is fantastic (I absolutely LOVE metallic red) and the lit up wheel is pretty awesome too, but because of it's performance during gameplay and it's durability, I give it 3 stars. Sorry.

I was at first upset with the seller because I felt I got a used mouse, but after using the mouse for a while, I'm not as upset because the mouse is pretty nice, its got a long cord and has a good feel, and I got it for a good price even for an open package, thanks.

My wireless mouse was making me crazy as it was not precise (even with adjustments), so I went back to a wired mouse and found it works so much better. Perfect - works great, great price. Who needs more?
