Great value,
This review is from: iHome iHM3 Portable Speaker System for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) (Electronics)
I was given this as a gift and was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. Powered only by AAA batteries this very portable speaker set puts out a great deal of sound. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a cheap solution. I use it while showering or in the garage and it is more than capable.

small in size, but deliver great sound,
This review is from: iHome iHM3 Portable Speaker System for iPod and MP3 Players (Pink) (Electronics)
I actually purchased these speakers at a local Wal-Mart for $19.97 and I am very impressed with them. I tried the SONY speakers for $29.97 and eventually returned them because they sounded very flat and you had to be right next to them to enjoy the sound. The iHome speaker has great sound and you can even switch the button over to add extra bass. The portability was wonderful too. I had them plugged into a regular CD player while working in the yard and I was able to hear the music the entire time. For the price, they are great!!

When I first got this I loved it. It had decent sound and was light and portable- allowing me to carry from one room to the other. It doesn't need a power outlet, just batteries. It is also versatile and compatible with all MP3's. However, the speakers blew suddenly and now the static and popping completely drowns out my music. It is useless now. Literally, it worked one day, and the next day it didn't. I've only had it for a couple months and am really disappointed. Don't buy this if you like to listen to your music loud. Spend more money and get something that is quality and will last. I'm going to.

Speakers busted!,
This review is from: iHome iHM3 Portable Speaker System for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) (Electronics)
When I first bought this device it worked wonderfully. The sound was good and the bass feature wasnt bad. After a week of using it however, the speakers busted. One day I simply turned it on and it played for about 10 seconds and then stopped. When it stopped a little crackle of static was heard coming from the speakers. It doesnt work anymore other than for 10 seconds. Definitely try another one if youre thinking about getting an ipod stereo. The busted speakers seem to be a common complaint.

I got this iHome, and it was working fine. I really liked it. The bass was good, and it worked perfectly. After about 2 weeks the bass went out. I couldn't turn it up very high with out it adding static. It still worked though, so I still used it. Then a week later I turned it on and it wouldn't work at all with out static. It sounds like crap.

My girlfriend bought this for me about a year ago to play with my mp3 player and it is still going strong. Despite what I have heard on reviews of it failing on other people, it hasn't happened to me yet.
It sounds great for the size and does what its supposed to do. I take it to the drivein theater we have in town, and play the movie through it via my cowon d2's fm reception. It's been awesome for that, and this thing is plenty loud enough. If you can get it for $25, it's a steal. Over $30 I would consider a boombox with aux input. This also comes with a nice case and can be plugged in to the wall with an adaptor.(sold seperately). I like it...

WOW!!!, what a piece of junk. This speaker is a joke. The sound quality is terrible. The iPod just lays on a pull out piece of plastic and just plugs into the headphone jack. The sound was never good and it died after a week and a half. I returned it and i bought the iH27 for $49 at costco and it works way better plus its a dock as well.

I can't believe anyone would say this is a good product for the money. I picked this as my 10 year service anniversary gift from work. It works as stated and is very small. Well, so is the sound quality. I wasn't going to pick this because it was so small and I figured that there was no way it could sound good. The reviews I read stated otherwise. The only complaint was that the speakers would blow easily if played too loud. That part of the reviews is correct.
I placed this little unit in my kitchen. I figured that this would be a great spot for it. We could listen to a little music while we cook. It wouldn't even have to be very loud. Not only is this unit quiet, but the sound quality is very bad and I'm not comparing it to high end speakers. Their just bad. If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten the alarm clock. Or at least not taken it out of the packaging...that way I could have gotten a few dollars for it on ebay or amazon.

I'm so disappointed,

Like other reviewers, I was initially very pleased with my purchase and even found the machine to be very good on batteries. I can't comment on its sound at high volume, though, as this speaker sits beside my pillow at night. At low volume, it sounds great. Unfortunately, about a week after purchase, it started emitting a loud motor-type sound that almost completely drowned out the music. It sounds to me like there's an internal fan that turns on after a period of time and the whir of the motor is amplified through the speakers. It continues for quite a while before finally fading out. Eventually, it'll restart, making the machine no good to me as this sound wakes me up. I'll return it to the store and seek something a little higher quality. Too bad, though. This little machine is exactly what I want.

This has got be one of the worst things purchased. I went to Wal Mart purchased this as I have a Sony and everything seems to be made for IPods, it worked for 3 days and now all it does is crackle constantly and since I threw away the box, it's unreturnable according to Wal Mart. $20.00 isn't a lot of spend, but you would expect it to last longer than 3 days. It's garbage. The sound quality wasn't good to begin with. Do you're research and spend a little more for better quality.
