This iHome Stereo Speaker Clock Radio dock for iPhone and iPod touch is an attractive option among the numerous myriad of iPhone/iPod docks that are currently available on the market. I really like the modern, simple, and understated design. It looks very nice with its large illuminated LED screen. The piano black glossy finish is nice too. One of the things that I feel that is the most important when choosing a speaker dock of any kind is the quality of the sound. With that said, this is one of the better sounding speaker docks out there. The sound on this thing is pretty crisp and it can get pretty loud... loud enough to fill a medium sized room. The integrated subwoofer/resonance chamber does an admirable job of producing low end bass that doesn't distort too much and muddy the music. There's also a pseudo surround sound mode called "3D sound" mode that kicks up the high end and replicates a surround sound experience. It makes the music sound more "airy" as if it were live music. In addition to these options, there are also manual options to adjust the treble, bass, balance/fader, and the volume levels to your liking. Other features I liked is the ability to hook up other audio sources using the auxiliary input jack port and the auto time/sync which automatically sets the time to whatever the time on your ipod or iphone is. I should mention that the auxiliary audio cable which you'd need to use the auxiliary input is not included though. These are readily available in any online or brick and mortar electronics department/retail store for about $10 to $20. The included small remote control is very nice and works really well too. It's about the size of a small credit card and is super thin.Read more ›

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This was my fourth iHome alarm (the first one being the iHome iD84BZ Alarm Clock Radio for iPad/iPhone/iPod with AM/FM Presets, the second the iHome iA17WZC Color Changing Stereo FM Alarm Clock Radio for iPhone/iPod), and the third the iHome iD37GZC Dual Alarm Stereo Clock Radio for iPad/iPhone/iPod with FM Preset Station Memory (Gunmetal). Of the four, it was the second largest (this doesn't mean it is all that large, it is actually a great size). The design is pretty standard; the power button, snooze/dimmer button, sleep button, the music controls, radio presets, wakeup and bedtime buttons, and an EQ button are all on the top in front of the iPhone dock. A note about the dock here: it will not fit an iPad. Nowhere in the clock description does it claim to work with the iPad, but I was wondering if it might anyway. It doesn't. It does come with several dock inserts for various sizes of iPods though. The back of the alarm has the regular stuff - Time Zone, DST switch, Time Set button, Aux-In Jack (you can use this for other MP3 players besides the iOS stuff), AC Adaptor Jack, and the FM antenna.

The iHome can function without a device plugged in, but the app makes this device so much more fun to use. The iHome app allows you to add additional alarms (the clock has two, turned off by default), check the weather forecast, check sleep stats, + some more stuff.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is another nice app-enhanced alarm clock from iHome. I have the iA9BZC model as well, and this new release is quite similar to that earlier version. Both units are outstanding for both their functionality and sound. First, and most notably, the sound quality is outstanding. It delivers a very nice and very full sound. The speakers are ported out the bottom of the unit, delivering remarkable clarity and bass for a unit of this size. I have a similar unit from Sony, and this one easily out-performs it. The sound quality really does rival the smaller Bose units. The second thing to note is that this has outstanding functionality as a bedside alarm radio. It has a great range of functions, like dual alarm, sleep, nap, etc. But it is all done in a thoughtful way. For instance, in addition to the time the radio displays today's date, or, when you have an alarm turned on, it displays which alarm is set, when it is set off to go, and what it will play. Which brings me to another nice feature: you can set your alarms to go off seven days a week, each weekday, or only on weekends, you can set a particular input (radio, iPod, aux.; and not only the input, but even which radio station you want if you select radio), as well as the particular volume. That means if you're listening to a baseball game in the evening on a low volume or had the radio cranked loud while doing something in your room during the day, you can still wake up the next morning to your usual morning show on a different station and at your desired volume. The display is nice and clear, and can easily dimmed by increments down to your preferred brightness for sleeping, including a nice barely-on setting if you like it real dark.Read more ›
