PIECE OF CRAP so regret buying it.

Only connects to mobile devices, and even then the signal is choppy no matter how close to the router it is.

If you are looking for sound equal to a BOSE system, please buy a BOSE system! While the sound quality doesn't compare to the $350+ units, this little speaker provides adequate sound to fill a small space. For under $140, I have to say, I'm quite pleased.

I wanted to lose the wires in my home and be able to play my itunes library throughout my house and this does the job. I opted for the iW2 instead of the iW1 because I didn't feel I needed the rechargeable battery for the additional $50. This unit needs to be plugged in to work, which is fine with me.

Set up was a breeze. It took less than 5 minutes. I used the iHome App, on my iPhone. The signal has been working fine, it hasn't dropped yet.

My only gripes are that I do lose the signal when I get an incoming call on my phone. Oh well. My bigger gripe is that the remote does not power the unit at all which is annoying. I would have liked to place this unit on a high cabinet in my kitchen, but I cannot do that because I can't use the remote to turn it on or off. The remote has an on/off button, but it doesn't work. I guess the iW1 shares the same remote, and it can be used to put that unit into sleep mode, but doesn't do a thing for the iW2.

If you buy this, know that you will need to push the power button on the unit itself to power it. This is why this loses a star in my review.

Surprised at the negative reviews. We three of these and other than the one in the far corner of the house (away from the router), I have zero complaints. We use it every single day. Occasionally I need to turn it off and back on for the IPAD to see it but I stream Pandora all day long. My wife loves it as well.

And it meets all of our needs for sound quality in 4 rooms of our house.

Due to our wi-fi capacity we can only run 3 speakers at once from iTunes, but this meets all our needs.

After reading all the other reviews stating that this speaker cuts out, I decided that Apple must have fixed that issue so I bought it. And guess what? It cuts out. It is great for what I use it for which is sleeping while playing a repeating storm track in my bedroom. However, the issue of it cutting out isn't what annoys me the most; it's the fact that it totally loses its connection right before I fall asleep so I have to establish a new wifi connection or ignore it and try to fall asleep. Try falling asleep while something annoys you. Almost impossible, isn't it?

The sound is good for my bedroom. The thunder and rain track I play sounds good. However, I still want to smash it with a tiny bat when it cut out almost exactly when I'm on the verge of falling asleep.

Customer product reviews can be so misleading. The Sound Freaq system is Bluetooth system not AirPlay. I am not commenting on the Sound Freaq system other than to say there is a huge difference in Bluetooth and AirPlay as to range and usability! No AirPlay or Bluetooth system sounds like high quality name brand wired speakers. That said I have begun to deploy the iHome iW1 and iW2 speakers as a whole home wireless sound system. The sound quality is respectable, and setup is a snap! I control all aspects of speaker sound as well as song selection from the audio source. That being the iPhone that is with me on my hip!

The speaker sounds great, especially for the price. The only issue I've run into is that when another device signs in to my wifi (like if I open my laptop) then the signal cuts out for a second. That could be an issue with my router, although it doesn't happen with other devices connected to that same router.

Not sure what peoples issues are with getting to connect to their home network. It literally took under 60 seconds once I connected an iOS device (iPhone) to the port in the back and followed the prompts on the iPhone. Granted, I have an AirPort Extreme and two AirPort Express devices in my home, so perhaps having Mac hardware assists with compatibility. I did have issues with connecting the speaker to iTunes on my Mac Air, but not my iPhone/iPod/iPad or any Windows computer running iTunes or AirFoil. The issue has to do with ivp6 being enabled on OSX. Shut it off by following this --> http://mactips.dwhoard.com/mactips/other-applications/fix-airplay

Beautiful looks, sound, but not exactly simplicity to set up. As you can see from the number of them going cheap on warehouse deals.

My iPhone 5 with the connect app did not work for configuration. But using a laptop and following the instructions for laptop configuration via WIFI worked a charm.

Remember, you connect with the speaker via WIFi FIRST to configure the speaker and give it access to your network. Then you go back to your usual WIFI settings on the laptop. Note that the default volume on my macbook for airplay (found via system preferences / sound ) is at zero - it might explain why you think its not working.
