I found the iLingo very useful. It was much less obvious than getting out a guidebook or dictionary, and the best thing was being able to listen to how the words are supposed to be pronounced. I would definitely recommned this product as it was easy to use, and had all the common words and phrases that you need. Also a bonus, was that there was more than one language on it, which is beneficial if you are travelling to more than one country.

The ultimate globe trotting companion, this cool software transforms your iPod into a translator and companion. With many essential phrases for major European languages, all you need is a backpack, a Eurorail pass, and your iPod! A must have for anyone headed to Europe who plans on traveling around, for fun or business. It's so much handier than a big ugly dictionary. The best part is listening to the native speaker say the phrase; you can repeat it instantaneously to get you what you need.

This does not even load when using mac's lion operating system. Had to return it! Don't waste your time. Buy something else.
