The unit starts with the iPod dock, which plays and charges your iPod 3G, iPod 4G (click wheel), iPod photo 4G, iPod video 5G and 5.5G, iPod mini, and iPod nano 1G and 2G. The CD player, meanwhile, supports CD, CD-R, and CD-RW formats, letting you listen to any CD tracks that you haven't yet uploaded to your iPod, along with a friend's CDs. Finally, you can catch up on the news, listen to the game, or catch a commercial station via the AM/FM tuner.
The IBCD2817DPBLK owes its high-quality stereo sound to its pair of front-firing speakers, which deliver a crisp, rich audio performance. And thanks to the full-function remote control, you can control the CD player and iPod from a distance. Other details include a sleek black housing; a blue backlit LCD display with a digital clock and timer; CD track programming; a digital volume control; a 3.5 mm auxiliary input for connecting other audio players, like an iPod shuffle or MP3 player; an audio/video output jack for connecting an iPod photo or video to a TV; and a comfortable carrying handle. The iLive boombox, which runs on AC power or nine C-size batteries (not included), measures 16.8 by 9.8 by 7 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.
Important Product Information
When you insert a CD into the IBCD2817, the CD player will spin the CD to read and gather the CD track total. The track total is then displayed to let you know how many songs are on the CD. You must then push the "Play" button to listen to the CD.

Overall, the boombox is ok. Looks nice. Very portable. Like the remote. Haven't used the CD player yet, so can't comment on that. If you have a fine-tuned ear, I suggest you look for another product. I hear a lot of static when I listen to my iPod unless I turn up the volume. I still use it almost daily, but wished I had done a little research to find something better. But given it's low price, it's handy to have to take places and not worry about it getting damaged.

The other reviews were accurate: yes, there is a little static sometimes on the lower volume settings, and yes, the 'adaptor' for the Ipod nano doesn't work at all, but if you have a regular Ipod, this is great.

Sound is not great at very high volume - no storage for extension cord or remote control, however size is convenient and very portable.

Happy and sad
