The system owes its smooth audio performance to its pair of stereo speakers, which are acoustically calibrated for the best possible performance. In addition, the ISPK2806 accommodates both older iPods and other audio devices--such as MP3 players, personal game systems, and personal CD players--through its auxiliary line input. Add in a video output for playing videos and slideshows on a connected TV and you have a great speaker system for the modern media landscape. The ISPK2806, which runs on AC power (cord included), measures 13.5 by 5.3 by 3.3 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.
What's in the Box
ISPK2806 speaker system, remote control, auxiliary line-in cord, dock inserts for iPod nano and iPod mini, user's manual.

A good buy for some decent speakers,

When to buy this product:Buy this product if you just want some decent audible sound. It cost less that $50.00 so you can't go wrong. Basically it turns your iPod into a middle of the road sounding Boom box. It's good to put in places like the Kitchen, the bedroom, or even in the office cubicle. The remote is nice to have also. (You don't have full functionality with this remote. Just: volume, pause, and skip, no back and forward through menus.) All and all I feel like it's a great accompaniment to my Nano. When NOT to buy this product: Don't buy this product in the hopes of turning your iPod into your home sound system. This product has very little bass to speak of. Don't buy this product for use with the First Gen. iPod Shuffle. Regardless of what the package says, IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE FIRST GENERATION IPOD SHUFFLE. This product produces sound that is nice for background effect i.e. I sometimes put it in the bathroom while showering. It is not suitable to be the main feature in your home sound system. So if you read this and taken it all into consideration, go right ahead and confidently purchase this product. I think you'll like it.

This is a fine product for the money. Be aware, though, that there is no battery power option; it works on AC only. The sound I would rate a B -- don't expect very high quality or deep bass response (It's far better than my dinky computer speakers, at least.) The remote worked fine; all functions responded up to 10 feet away which is as far as I've sat from the unit. The instructions are typical overseas-translation awful; you have to figure out how to work this one yourself, which is not a problem since the operation is simple. (The mysterious plastic shield is meant to be used as a support for the ipod or nano once it's inserted into the dock.) All in all, I'm happy I can play my ipod on a reasonably good sounding unit, but will probably spring for a second-generation operator that offers battery power and better speakers.

At least the charger works,

Only buy this item if you desperately want to listen to your ipod out loud. The remote control I received did not work right out of the box. It will control the power and volume of the unit but will not pause, skip, or repeat tracks on the ipod. Sound quality is barely passable. No bass and no highs, only a muddy sounding midrange. The only thing I could compare it to are the small, handheld transistor radios that were popular in the seventies. The charger dock works fine but will not charge my ipod with a protective rubber sleeve on it. It also has a cool blue light that shines behind your ipod when the unit's power is on. It's a shame about the sound quality and the faulty remote because the unit itself is nice and heavy and feels very solid. If you have any other alternatives, I would advise to skip this one.
