For the Missouri reviewer to say "beware" is simply not fair to the producers of this product. I am sure his review of The Passion DVD would also say "beware".
I was personally on the studio set by chance when the iLumina people were filming Jesus' tomb scenes. I watched as the actress playing Mary did her scene over and over, so that they could capture the pure shock and wonder of Mary seeing an empty tomb. How marvelous it was to see that filming!
Objects like a table and a cave may not be totally accurate computer-generating renderings for that Missouri reviewer, but that doesn't mean people should "beware" of the product! Should we discount the impact of The Passion movie and DVD because of the inaccuracies in it?

I have found the iLumina Gold Bible and encyclopedia software to be incredibly helpful in my Bible study. If there is something that I need more information on, it is immediately available at the click of the mouse. The "My Study Center" search brings all the related Scripture, articles, animation, photos and maps right to me. The virtual tours put you right in the place and time, and are truly incredible to watch. I've recommended iLumina Gold to my group leader because so much valuable material can be cut and pasted for handouts and presentations.

This is an awesome tool for studying the bible. As an Adult Bible Study teacher, this has been the most valuable resource in preparing lessons. This software contains excellent cross references, commentaries, and maps that can easily be copied into a word or power point presentation. The animations and virtual tours are excellent although I wish there were more of them. The animations and virtual tour of the Old Testament Tabernacle totally opened my eyes to a very hard to understand section of the bible and help me realize how Jesus fullfilled the Old Testament Law.

Fantastic program that no Minister/Preacher/Priest, Clergy, Theological Seminary student/teacher or Sunday School teacher can be without. If you enjoy Biblical history, Bible studies and related, you will LOVE it! One topic branches off to several related topics and visuals. Actual footage of the Holy Land. Shows then and now. Is such a well put together teaching program that I'm suprised it's not in the $300-$500 dollar range. Comes in several different versions including NIV and KJV. You will NOT be disappointed. Great gift for Ministers, Sunday School Teachers, etc.

I would love to tell you all what a great product it is, but i can't seem to get my kids off of it long enough to check it out myself. They love all the animations and pictures. It is a terrific way to get young kids interested. They watch the animations over and over and then ask questions about it, it just gets the whole discussion started.

There are plenty of features in this product to help you dive deeper into your personal or group study. The photos, animations, and virtual tours will help you see scripture in a way you never have before.

This product seems to be a well developed one from what I have seen thus far on the introductory sample I received and I like that they included a section on some hymns and their background along with words and music.
The post from the "pastor" from Missouri who trashed this was learning aid was wrong to do so. Most college degreed Ministers and Pastors will teach that in Jesus' time banquet tables were indeed low and guests "reclined" at table according scripture and to Archeological documentation.

It seems the Missouri "pastor" who posted may be holding a grudge of some sort toward this company. Is Missouri one of the false teachers the bible warns about?

I do agree, however, we all need to do our own research and determine who those false teachers are. I am not affiliated with the people who designed and produced this product and (as stated) I have only seen the introductory cd-rom, but even though I have studied the bible for close to 40 years using many tools I think this product is a wonderful tool for teens and others new to their belief. It is a fresh new way to learn about God, Jewish history and the Christianity, including life application from what I see.

I just received my copy of ilumina Gold from Amazon yesterday and I have been impressed by some of the animations, but I must say that this product has not lived up to my expectations. the majority of the material is focused on the life of Jesus. The animations contain a few classic stories from the Old Testament and just the stories of Jesus from the New Testament, ignoring everything else found in the New Testament.

Some of the animations and media files that I have viewed have not been historically accurate. Jesus and his disciples had the last supper at a modern day banquet table, not at a short, floor height table of the day. The tomb in which Jesus was buried looked like it was built for a king.

As a pastor, I want to warn consumers should beware that this product, just like all other Modern Christian products is one person's interpretation of the bible and archiological evidence, and not the gospel truth. This is certainly not a scholarly work, and should not be treated as one, but I encourage people to do their own research.
