iLuv Lightweight Armband Case for iPod nano 5G (Black)

I'm not really sure why this is listed as a "5th Generation" armband for an iPod nano, as this armband is about as generic as generic can be, in terms of fit. There are no camera holes, and when the iPod is in the sleeve, the fit simply isn't good. Rather than make direct contact with your iPod, the plastic almost hovers over it, because it is not form-fit.

I planned to use this with the Apple MA365LL/D Nike+ iPod Sport Kit, and was happy that the amband seemed to accommodate the Nike sensor... until I kept pushing, and the iPod came out of the top. Granted, this makes getting to the Hold slider on the iPod accessible, but it's a lazy way to do it. More importantly though, it makes it fairly easy for your iPod to wiggle its way out, since it isn't held very snug to begin with.

As for the armband itself, iLuv seems to have taken a cue from Xtrememac's Sportwrap series. The band is stretchy black neoprene and velcro, and is fairly comfortable to wear. My biggest contention here is the iLuv logo. I'm reasonably content with my masculinity, but I could do with it being a bit more discreet. On that tangent, the band does not "glow in the dark" as described, although it is reflective. For all intents and purposes, reflective material is safer at night, but I suppose the lack of active glowing could disappoint some.

Unless you really need an armband right now, I'd probably hold out for the any-day-now Xtrememac Sportwrap, or the "case with a strap that goes through it" type of armbands that are going for about the same price.

This arm band fits well and is comfortable. I barely notice it is there when running. However, the clear plastic cover is quite thick and it is hard to use the scroll function on the ipod nano through the window

The arm band does not allow air next to your body and ends up all sweaty after running. The buttons on the ipod can be challenging to operate through the thick plastic. However, the unit does stay in place on your arm and is good ipod protection for rainy weather.

I'm not a fat guy, nor do I have overly large biceps... I'm quite average actually... which is upsetting to me because this product's band circumference doesn't allow me to actually attach it to my bicep. I had to attach it to my forearm, which I'll admit in my dorky way did make it feel kinda like a tech enhancement or something futuristic and alien... but I digress.

The material it is made out of is fine, it wicks away moisture just fine. It is just the excessively short band length that I can't get over...

My bicep is (and I just measured it right now) 15" around... My girlfriends bicep is 10"... the strap is 9.5"... so our take is that unless you are rail thin, this product will be useless for you if you intend to actually attach it to your bicep like it should be.

I'm your basic hi-concept/lo-tech guy, so I was pleased to find an armband for a Nano I recieved a few years back. There aren't many good alternatives around; they're often bulky or aren't as convenient as an easily accesible armband.

After a tiny sturggle getting the NANO into the pcoket (I had to remove the not-very-well attached plastic cover sheet I bought for it), I had high hopes. The armbound attached fairly easily, and, most importantly, felt secure. Then the trouble began.

After 10 minutes or so of walking, it began to fel uncomfortable, and no amount of adjusting REALLY solved that. It would alternately feel either too tight (especially after walking for a while, there was this constricting feeling) or too loose as in, "I believe it just went sliding down my arm again"). One part of the problem is the reliance on ONE material, a neoprene or thich vinyl-like substance with no grip of its own and NO padding. I'm sure this brings down the price, but I'd rather pay a few dollars more for somthing more sure-footed and comfortable. Too bad I can't find one.

The strap is sufficiently long enough, but if you tie it too closely you reduce the number of those little "hook andloop" closures (face it, we're talking VELCRO here, but that's a patented name--like Kleenex, or Xerox--a few years back, or Coke--pre-John Belushi) and it doesn't hold as well.

After all that bashing, however, I'd still give this a recommendation--albeit hardly an enthusiastic one--based on the very low price and the lack of competition. I don;t think a hard-core exerciser will like it much, but for casual to moderate exercise (e.g., walks, moderate bicyling), you'll get enough productive use out of it to justify getting one.

It's a nice armband as far as quality and materials, but when strapped to arm, using scroll when controlling volume stinks! It can be frustrating at points, when it prevents the ipod from reacting to your touch. I will be getting a new armband when time and money allows, but will deal with this one till then.

I had been casually looking for an armband to carry my Nano. The price was right, construction was good. I enjoy it much more than I thought I would, and wish I had ordered it soooner. Shipping was prompt. Item was exactly what was advertised.

if you're a man with medium size muscles this armband will not fit, it is way too small!

It's well made and does what I want, but it's difficult to put on. Mainly because the band is small. I'm not a weight lifter and it fits tight on me. The band could have given more room which would make it easier to put on.

This is badly designed for the Nano... it's hard to use with the plastic over the iPod dial (I finally cut it out). It is too big for my arm because I'm fairly petite. You can't use the camera at all if you wish to. It's just not user friendly at all. It would be strong and probably good for a hard core runner who has decent sized arms.
