Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This product is useful as a basic speaker system for your computer. However, I wouldn't use this product to replace other sub-woofer based speaker systems that do a better job in more strenuous circumstances like gaming. There was annoying vibration in songs with heavy use of the bass. The price is comparable to other mid-level speaker systems and the sound quality is better than those in the same price range. Another nice feature is the extra USB ports that are part of the design. Everyone knows that you can never have enough USB ports on your computer and this speaker bar gives you another three to work with. The design seems to be durable and the controls on the top of the bar are easy to use. One missing design feature is a remote that would allow you to control the bar from short distances. This would be useful in a media center setup. Overall, I would recommend this product in most situations.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This product does not necessarily produce bad sound, but its value is completely obliterated by the design, especially the plugging aspect of the design. First, it has to be plugged into a wall, but it comes with an ac cord that is about 2.5-3 feet long, FAR too short. Most people would need an extension cord sitting on their desk to accommodate. This design flaw alone makes this a worthless product and is a huge oversight. Second, it has to be plugged into an audio output jack on the computer, and this cord too is very short, perhaps shorter than the AC cord. The cords unfortunately ruin the product.

The visual appearance is fine. Its not pretty, but its not ugly either. Its relatively small and unobtrusive.

The sound is average at best. There's practically no bass response, a disappointment. I've heard wonderful bass from speakers far smaller than this, so size is no excuse. Its really hard to discern any real bass coming out at all, almost all highish mid range and high range. Second, the treble is definitely colored, and sounds somewhat muffled. Compared to similar products in size and price point, the treble is probably similar to, or slightly below those products, which are, imho, largely unacceptable. It just feels like your typical mass produced speaker product that received very little sound engineering design attention.

And what's up with the name? Why does every company have to follow apple and have an "i-something"? Is creativity so gone?

I cannot recommend this product.

The sound quality of these speakers are good but the reason I'm giving it such a high rating is the inclusion of the 4, 2.0 USB ports. They really come in handy, especially since I'm using the speakers for my desktop, and no longer have to reach under my desk to insert a plug into the tower. Very convenient. Pretty nice design but no real special bells or whistles. Very straightforward and I think worth it for the price.

I can only imagine that most of the 1 and 2 star reviews for this speaker are from back when it was $99.99, because for $22.95, this thing is everything you could freakin ask for. If you use this was your not-too-high-end laptop, the improvement over the stock speakers is instantly noticeable. I mainly use mine with my iPod, and just plug it in and listen to it when I'm cleaning and stuff. Obviously this isn't some audiophile device, so come on. For this cheap? Totally five-star.

I bought this to get better and louder sound than the internal speakers of my mac mini. The USB cord was pretty short limiting the distance the the speaker can be away from the computer, but it didn't matter to me because I wasn't planning on using it. The 3.5 in. jack awkwardly place on top of the device, so it's hard to position it in front of the monitor as in the promo picture. It was awkward to put it anywhere on your desk. The last straw was the there was a persistence buzz at any volume. Changing the bass and treble didn't help. There are lots of 10 dollar speakers that sound better than this one. The volume barely beat out my internal speakers. Also, the way that you adjust the bass and treble is by pushing two buttons. A blue or green light will flash, a double flash indicates you reached an end. It's very hard to know where you are in between. A simple slide would have done a much better job. I didn't even bother to try to return or donate it after 20 minutes of use. I didn't have high expectations, but this shouldn't even be allow to leave the factory floor.

I was a bit disappointed from this product. First the quality is not that great even for $22. Second, it must be powered externally (while there are speakers that can be USB powered). Third, you have to use the audio line in, cannot just used the USB to feed the music.

I have a MacBook air and I hoped I could attach to the USB HUB (on the speaker) the mouse and keyboard and when I attached the USB plug from the speaker, everything will be connected. However, I need to connect the power line and audio line.

I bought this to replace my Creative Labs 5.1 channel speaker system in my attempt to reduce clutter. The promise, or at least what I expected, was a 2.1 channel speaker system that would be powered via USB and carry the audio via USB. Essentially, one cable to one unit = reduced clutter. This system CANNOT operate without the included power adapter. It is NOT USB powered.

The second problem is that the audio through USB is only 1 channel, not 2.1. Only the right speaker would work for me. In order to use all the speakers and have it sound nice, I had to run the included audio cable from my computer to the speaker's auxiliary port.

So what should have been a one cable wonder turns out to be three cables (power, usb, and audio) if I want to use all the features and have it still sound good (which is kinda the point of speakers).

For anyone who says that a system like this HAS to have an external power source and that I am stupid, I have the Logitech N700 Lapdesk laptop cooler which has built in speakers. That thing is entirely powered via USB and includes two speakers, a subwoofer, and a cooling fan. It is nothing short of impressive. And the volume up, volume down, and mute buttons send commands directly to Windows to adjust the volume control from within Windows, not just on the speakers.

The speakers are a bit of a letdown from my 5.1 channel system that it is replacing. But I expected that. I did not expect it to be as tinny and have as awful bass as it did. I would much rather hook up my Logitech N700 than this.

Overall, not impressed and I would not buy this again.
