My husband and I have been married for 10 years when we took this course as part of a small group and while we didn't hear much new things in the beginning, boy did we learn alot once we hit session 3 and 4.
I agree with a previous comment that the book could contain more scripture, but at the same time it is very biblical and the verses mentioned are extremely powerful.

This book's content is both simple and deep. On one hand, every Christian couple should know what this book explains, but on the other hand, many of us don't and even when you know the principles, it's easier to implement them once you become consciously aware of how much to love each other and how to show that love.

Assuming Christian couples already ready the bible, I would not say that this is a 'must-read', but everybody who does read it will most certainly get a lot out of it that hopefully changes their thoughts, attitude and life.

Oh, and it's easy to read and easy to use in a small group setting.

We have used the iMarriage DVD and accompanying study for various small groups, marriage emphasis studies in our coffee shop, and even for marriage counseling. The study is practical, engaging and effective in communicating the message of the crucial topic of expectations. The six week committment is minimal and sets up further studies as well. We highly recommend this product.

This is what my small group is using and it is awesome. We are all in a different place in our marriages, some married 5 years and some 30 and we are 19 years. We all are enjoying this study and are learning so much.

Totally different way to look at marriage, and understand why it goes from great to bad. This raised some questions I still haven't answered. But overall, this is right on. If we all saw marriage this way, being able to see the difference between our expectations and desires, I think countless people would still be together.

Excellent choice for a Sunday School class. The chapters are short, but provide insightful information as well as scripture references that provide you direction for the upcoming week.

I bought this in addition to the DVD. I didn't find it very helpful. There was not a lot of room to write in it and it is almost verbatim of the DVD.

More About the Author

Communicator, author, and pastor, ANDY STANLEY founded Atlanta-based North Point Ministries in 1995. Today, NPM is comprised of six churches in the Atlanta area and a network of 30 churches around the globe, collectively serving over 60,000 people weekly. A survey of U.S. pastors in Outreach Magazine identified Andy Stanley as one of the top 10 most influential living pastors in America.

The author of 20-plus books, including The New Rules of Love, Sex, and Dating, Ask It, How to Be Rich, Deep & Wide, Enemies of the Heart, When Work & Family Collide, Visioneering, and Next Generation Leader, Andy Stanley holds two degrees, an undergraduate in journalism from Georgia State University and a Masters degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, the impact of which is all too evident in his written work.

In the digital world, his success reaches well beyond local Atlanta-area walls. Two million of Stanley's messages, leadership videos, and podcasts are accessed from North Point's website monthly.

In 2012, Your Move with Andy Stanley premiered on NBC after Saturday Night Live, giving him an even wider audience with which to share his culturally relevant, practical insight for life and leadership. In less than two years, over 36 million episodes have been viewed, underscoring Stanley's impact not only as a communicator but also as a cultural change agent.

But nothing is so personal as his passion for engaging with live audiences, which Stanley has pursued for over a decade, speaking at leadership events around the world. In high demand, he speaks at various events before a yearly audience of both church and organizational leaders of nearly 200,000, including conferences such as Catalyst, Leadercast, Exchange, and the WCA Global Leadership Summit.

"I cannot fill their cups," he often says of the opportunity to impact leaders in business and in ministry, "but I have a responsibility to empty mine."

Andy Stanley and his wife, Sandra, have three grown children and live near Atlanta.
