UPDATED REVIEW

After two years of almost daily use, this mouse has finally broken down. It double clicks almost every time it is pressed, making simple tasks almost impossible. Since the mouse was cheap to begin with, I only dropped the rating by one star. But I expected more considering that the stock mouse that came with my ancient Compaq desktop is still working after 10 years. I suggest spending a little more on a better quality mouse that will last longer and also be easier to use. I replaced this mouse with a Logitech wireless mouse, and it feels much more solid overall. The mouse tracks a lot better, and the scrolling wheel has a much better feel. I'll have to wait and see how durable it turns out to be.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

This was the cheapest mouse I could find, but it seems to work just fine. It is very light, which is good for me because I sometimes need to carry it around with my laptop. Like other reviewers said, this mouse is standard size; the "micro" in the name is just the brand. Some might find it a little too fast, but you can easily adjust the mouse speed in the control panel (on Windows XP, follow this order: Control Panel--mouse--pointer options. For Windows 7: Control Panel--Hardware and Sound--Mouse).

Previous edit (before failure): I use the mouse on a mouse pad and don't notice any irregular movements. I have also tried this mouse on my desktop (not perfectly smooth wooden desk) and it seems to work fine. I can see how it would be jumpy if you used it on a shiny, irregular surface though.

Don't let the cost scare you away. Though these are very inexpensive mice, they are every bit as good as a standard Dell or HP mouse that might ship with a new PC.

Excellent replacement for a standard mouse.

They called this mouse micro yet it is larger than I expected. It works very well in my home with children aged 6 to 12 using the computer as well as mom and dad. It is a good mouse for a cheap price.

Like others have said, do not let the cost scare you. The name "micro" is actually "imicro", the name of the company, so do not expect a tiny mouse. This is standard sized and you should expect such, especially since the words "bulk" are in the item name. Besides, you wouldn't want an actual micro sized mouse anyways; I'm fairly certain one would have a hard time using it.

That being said, this mouse has all drivers pre-loaded on to it, so it can work with an USB port. This is extremely useful and easy so that even those without computer skills can simply plug it in and wait a few moments before being able to use it with ease. Since the mouse is optical as well, its a nice replacement for anyone that is still using a roller ball one and is sick of trying to clean dust and grime out to have a somewhat responsive mouse.

There are a few small things that could be better though. For instance the cord could be a tad longer so that it could work easier with desktops. Or for that matter, it could use a mini or standard USB connection to have ease of cord replacements or exchange depending on your system.

One should also note that the usage of this mouse, while smooth and well performing for its functions, is rather loud. If you're someone who hates noise or needs to work late and doesn't want to wake light sleepers, the loud clicking sound is less than ideal. While the firm yet not hard clicking resistance makes one feel in control, the sound produced can be quite annoying.

That all being said, for such a cheap mouse the pro's of performance, ease, and price out-weight that or its limitations. If you just need a mouse though or want a quality piece that is durable this is perfect or you, especially for students or those with laptops that are picky.

This optical, white box USB mouse works extremely well. Although it's larger than you might expect because of the way they advertise it, this mouse nevertheless fits easily in my hand without feeling uncomfortable. It's also a huge improvement over my last PS2 mouse at that--it handles much better without freezing up like my last PS2 mouse used to do all the time. In addition, I never have to make an effort to move the cursor around on the monitor screen. It's very responsive!

As others have noted, the mouse isn't literally a "white box" mouse, there's a somewhat silvery color to it that looks good combined with the rest of the mouse that is black.

I should also note that this mouse makes it easy as pie to scroll through documents, webpages, a spreadsheet and more. Just use the scroller in the center and you won't have any difficulty.

Overall, this optical white box mouse by iMicro leaves very little to be desired; and the price is good for anyone on a budget. Just make sure that you have a free USB port before you make this purchase. I highly recommend this mouse.

After one day, the mouse was making errors, like skipping to a corner of the display. After a week and a half it stopped working altogether. You don't even get what you pay for with this one.

When you put your computer to sleep and then try to walk away, the computer wakes up. The slightest vibration caused by walking on the floor actually causes this mouse to wake the computer. Never had this problem with any other mouse. The only way to keep the computer asleep is either use a different mouse, or unplug this one when not in use.
