good mouse for the money,
By Support Person "SP" (DC, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: iMicro Optical Wireless Mini Mouse (Black) (Personal Computers)
I have 2 of these and i am about to purchase a 3rd. I use it on both Macs and PCs, laptops and Desktops. Using one as I write this on my MacBook Pro. My other died, so I will be sending it back, but this one works fine. You need to use the USB dongle in order for this item to work. This is not a bluetooth device. The dongle fits inside unit when it is not in use. It also lights up when active. If you do not move it for a few minutes it will go to sleep (lights go off) move it and it will start back up pretty quick.

Another Amazon Product That Is Not Exactly What It Appears,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: iMicro Optical Wireless Mini Mouse (Black) (Personal Computers)
Bought this mouse assuming it had an internal, rechargeable battery, given the included tether. Received the mouse and at first was totally confused as to how to get it to work. It turns out you have to provide TWO AAA BATTERIES which are NOT INCLUDED WITH THE ITEM. (You insert the batteries by sliding back the cover with the iMicro logo on it). This fact is totally omitted from the listing, which is very deceptive. Also, there is literally no documentation included with the mouse, so it's up to the user to figure out how to use it - which actually turns out to be NOT AT ALL INTUITIVE. The way to get the mouse to work AFTER inserting the batteries is pretty straight forward: just plug in the included dongle, and the mouse should sync up automatically (if not, just push the small round button inset on the underside of the mouse along with the button on the dongle and the mouse should sync up no problem). If you want to use the mouse without inserting batteries (i.e., tethered), the process is very unintuitive and the setup cumbersome (you'd better have two free USB ports open on you computer): you first have to plug in the dongle, and then attach the tether to the mouse and another open USB port. That's right, you have to use TWO USB PORTS JUST TO USE THE MOUSE IN TETHERED MODE.In terms of the actually functionality of the mouse, it seems to work fairly well. The optical sensor is quite good and the response time is excellent. The construction of the mouse is actually fairly sturdy despite it's many other shortcomings. The scroll wheel turns smoothly and is quite responsive. There is also a small port in the back of the mouse in which you can store the USB dongle when not in use. Keep in mind however that the mouse will turn off when the dongle is inside (not that it matters anyway, since you can't use the mouse without the dongle in your computer. Final summation: this is an okay mouse for anyone looking for a quick and dirty portable wireless solution, and you probably won't find much better for the tune of $9. However, it certainly seems the manufacturer could have put a little more effort into making it more user friendly and compact: specifically, providing SOME instruction as to setup, and making the mouse work via tether without having to also plug in the dongle, taking up two USB ports where it should really only be necessary to use one. Also, I don't care HOW cheap an item is, Amazon should provide clearer specifications as to pertinent details of a product, such as the fact that this mouse requires batteries that are not included with the item as shipped.

When I first got the mouse I was wondering how exactly to set it up and found out you just plug it in and put batteries in it. So easy and user friendly! So glad I bought it!!
