I have 2 of these and i am about to purchase a 3rd. I use it on both Macs and PCs, laptops and Desktops. Using one as I write this on my MacBook Pro. My other died, so I will be sending it back, but this one works fine. You need to use the USB dongle in order for this item to work. This is not a bluetooth device. The dongle fits inside unit when it is not in use. It also lights up when active. If you do not move it for a few minutes it will go to sleep (lights go off) move it and it will start back up pretty quick.

Bought this mouse assuming it had an internal, rechargeable battery, given the included tether. Received the mouse and at first was totally confused as to how to get it to work. It turns out you have to provide TWO AAA BATTERIES which are NOT INCLUDED WITH THE ITEM. (You insert the batteries by sliding back the cover with the iMicro logo on it). This fact is totally omitted from the listing, which is very deceptive. Also, there is literally no documentation included with the mouse, so it's up to the user to figure out how to use it - which actually turns out to be NOT AT ALL INTUITIVE. The way to get the mouse to work AFTER inserting the batteries is pretty straight forward: just plug in the included dongle, and the mouse should sync up automatically (if not, just push the small round button inset on the underside of the mouse along with the button on the dongle and the mouse should sync up no problem). If you want to use the mouse without inserting batteries (i.e., tethered), the process is very unintuitive and the setup cumbersome (you'd better have two free USB ports open on you computer): you first have to plug in the dongle, and then attach the tether to the mouse and another open USB port. That's right, you have to use TWO USB PORTS JUST TO USE THE MOUSE IN TETHERED MODE.

In terms of the actually functionality of the mouse, it seems to work fairly well. The optical sensor is quite good and the response time is excellent. The construction of the mouse is actually fairly sturdy despite it's many other shortcomings. The scroll wheel turns smoothly and is quite responsive. There is also a small port in the back of the mouse in which you can store the USB dongle when not in use.

When I first got the mouse I was wondering how exactly to set it up and found out you just plug it in and put batteries in it. So easy and user friendly! So glad I bought it!!

Save yourself the headache of having to return this mouse and just don't buy it. I actually bought 2 and they were both exactly of the same terrible quality. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks on a Logitech mouse or something with a brand name on it. These mice barely worked with batteries, and didn't work at all when plugged in. Don't do it, just don't.

I have always enjoyed doing business with Amazon and still do, but this product was a big disappointment. It comes with no instructions so going online was necessary to learn a little bit about it (my first wireless peripheral). It was difficult to get it to synchronize and didn't seem to get any easier with practice and sometimes just wouldn't work at all. I played around with it for a couple of months and finally just threw it away. It was not worth paying to return it. As cheap as it was, it was still not worth owning. Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more money and get a higher quality mouse.

It was easy to start using, but the reason I bought this item was for the storage of the usb port. I put it in the mouse as it was suppose to be (with out batteries) and the usb port got stuck. I got batteries in it, and it won't stay in, therefore the mouse won't turn off. I returned this product because it was not fuctioning properly. It could have just been me, but I was not happy with it performance.

I'm not one to criticize at the drop of a hat, but unfortunately I need to give a negative review of the iMicro wireless optical mouse. We purchased it because of its size and wireless capability. However, after one use the mouse ceased working. Four different people, three of whom are quite "techie", could not get the mouse to work after that. Sadly, we had to purchase another brand.

This mouse was very difficult to get to work properly, the dongle is too big and the optical eye was "ok" at the very best. It's response time is slow and it does not work well on random surfaces. I have a belkin and a logitech that work faultless. Don't waste your money, I will not even waste the postage to return this item, I tossed it straight in the trash.
