Ok..I've been using amazon for more than 5 years, and i have probably bought more than 500 items, but this is the first time i spend some minutes to leave a review because it really deserves it..I bought this iphone holder not so confident of what i would receive because there was no feedback at all, i guess it has been just introduced to the market..but i thought, well somebody has to take the risk, i just got it..I have an iphone 4S and my car is a new ford mustang, so i wanted to buy a holder that did not affect the look of my car, in fact, i wanted it to make it look better, and of course safe for my iphone...This holder is the smallest one i have ever seen, it fits the iphone no matter if you have a case on it..like i do, because you can adjust it..then you can move it to any position that you want, and stick it yo your dashboard or your windshield..the iphone is safe no matter how you place it..in my case I wanted to use Siri while driving, of course typing while driving is not an option, but after placing the holder right in fron of my eyes i just have to push the home button and ask siri to read, write or reply any text message that i get..just amazing, i will recommend it to anybody..and to make it clear..I have nothing to do with the seller or company behind it..if I'm doing this is because i want to pay back to all of you that have helped me before with your feedbacks in order to make my choice a lot easier..thanks and good luck

The ball swivel bracket attaching the phone holder to the mounting base (which must be moved to adjust the phone once you have put the phone into the holder) breaks easily.
It worked fine when first installed, but when the first day below freezing came, caused the swivel to seize up and snap off when used. The unit is worthless without the phone holder connected to the base.

I have contacted the manufacturer and am waiting for their reply as to my request for a replacement.

I received contact from the manufacturer iOttie and they are standing behind their product and sending me a replacement. They stated that they have not had this problem before and have requested the damaged unit to investigate the issue further. I am satisfied with their response.

Reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant at buying because of "suction cup does't stick", but for the price, I went for it.
One week old so far and its great! I used the provided plastic "circle" piece with the sticky thing on back to stick to my dashboard, and the suction cup sticks to that. (In NJ, you can get ticketed for having something mounted on your windshield). And for the people who say it doesn't stick - did you remove the thin piece of plastic off of the suction cup - I almost missed that it was on there - this may be the reason people are complaining.
There was no instructions, but its self exclamatory.
Just barely fits my Samsung/Google Galaxy Nexus (Verizon LTE version)with a case on it - its tight, but fits!
No cons whatsoever.

It worked great for a couple months, only for the suction to lose its effectiveness over time. Sent my iPhone 4S crashing down to the floor of the car, nicking a corner and hitting the windshield wiper lever. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled about the mount damaging my two month old phone. Guess I got what I paid for.

Edit: A few hours after posting the review, I received a call offering to send a replacement unit - same model, same design, same everything. I reluctantly accepted it and asked what they could do about the damage to my phone. They refused responsibility for it. I'm bumping it up to three stars for now since customer support was quick to help resolve the issue, something most companies wouldn't do.

Edit 4/9/2012. Received my new unit last Friday the 6th. Worked well over the weekend, but it didn't take long for the suction to fail again and send my phone falling to the floor of my car with the slightest bump on the road. It keeps working itself loose. I would give the company 5 stars for their excellent customer service, but this product is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS and a total waste of money. Seriously, don't even bother.

I bought two of these holders. One from Amazon for $15 and the other for $5 on eBay. Both items arrived and were 100% identical. This is a VERY GENERIC holder. No name brands....made in China. No instructions or paperwork of any kind is included. It's an average holder that holds my iPhone 4 in its case with no problems. I was just expecting more for my money. I wasn't expecting a generic chinese holder when ordering from Amazon. Now I know better. It's definitely an average phone holder. Seems to mount easy and be steady. I would just recommend spending 1/3 of the money and buying it somewhere else.

UPDATE:

I've had this for over a week now and had to give it only 2 stars. I have an iPhone 4 and this holder vibrates all over the place while driving on the highway. It will NOT keep the phone is the same position. I had to readjust the position every couple of minutes. Local around the house it does good, but just can't handle the highway vibration it gets at higher speeds. I would not recommend this holder for someone who plans on using it on a freeway. There is just too much movement.
