I just ordered my copy and having read one of Hess's previous books, which was a Digital Field Guide for my camera, I am really excited to get this one.

I would highly recommend this book to learn the IPad and get your money's worth when buying the pad.

This is my first venture into apple beyond the ipod and this book got me up to speed in no time. I don't feel like I am missing anything because I'm not familiar with their products. The book was well written and had very easy to follow instructions and advice. The book is really complete and shows me how to do everything...well worth having to get the most out of your ipad...

I just got my IPad book by Alan Hess. I have read enough to know it's just what i needed! It covers the things that you need to know to use the IPad in a practical sense. It's easy to understand and not "over the head" like some instructional books. I would highly recommend this book to learn the IPad and get your money's worth when buying the pad. I have read several books by Alan Hess and have always been delighted.

i just received my copy a couple of hours ago and I instantly went looking for one answer to a issue I had with the iPad and found it! Those who know me know how I love the iPad, had them from the get go and have given many away as presents. So I was excited to delve into Alan's most excellent book. I love learning, I'm enjoying the writing and think it's a must companion to the iPad!

As a working photographer the iPad is proving to be an invaluable piece of kit, but not just for showing portfolios; which I hasten to add it does extremely well. There's so much that can be done with this incredible piece of kit but that's only something I'm now more aware of having recently purchased this book by Alan Hess.

With so many books available to us promising the earth it's difficult to know what to buy and I for one have ended up spending good money on books that just haven't lived up to the reviews. However, I'm glad to say with this book I couldn't be happier. It's very rare that I'll manage to get through a book in one day but with this book I nearly got through it in one sitting. That doesn't mean the book has little content; quite the reverse in fact with over 284 pages packed with little gems of tips and tricks.

I think what makes this book a winner is that it's Author is himself a working Photographer and trainer so it's been approached from a ground level, users point of view. Tips and techniques are covered straight to the point so you not left in any doubt as to what to do and what's more the author hasn't used this as a way of promoting endless applications; in fact a large proportion of those he mentions are free.

I could go on and on as to why I highly recommend this book but I can sum it by saying...'If you've spent the money it takes to buy an iPad then I would suggest you're going to want to get the most out of it; Alan Hess' Book 'The iPad: Fully Loaded' will enable you to do exactly that...and more!

I'd have purchased this book if only for what I learned in "Chapter 5: Movies"

Highly Recommended!

As an iPad user for about 4 months, when I purchased the book, I wondered how much I would learn. Turns out a lot and it's not just about what cool apps to get. For example, I learned that viewing my mailbox in landscape mode will allow me to see the contents of my inbox vs. portrait mode where I only see the selected email. Another thing I learned was how to size my photographs for viewing on the iPad. The book is written in an easy to understand, sometimes humorous fashion. If you haven't purchased an iPad yet, I would recommend buying the book first. It will help you choose which iPad to get and the costs associated. The user guide that comes with the iPad tells you how the functions work, iPad Fully Loaded tells you how to use it
