It has been said many times already, but it's worth repeating: iPad is one of the most revolutionary devices that has come around in years. On the surface it seem like a cross between a tablet PC, a net book and an iPod, but comparing it to any one of these other devices doesn't do the full justice. iPad is truly revolutionizing how we approach the use of computers, and it is bound to have an impact on all of the other computing devices. iPad is an always-on, easily accessible and intuitive computing platform.

iPad 2 has been a major improvement on the original iPad concept. This device is thinner, lighter, faster, and it's equipped with two cameras, one on each face of the device. It is even more fun to use, and you almost start to feel that you could almost entirely ditch your computer. Even though the ease of use is one of its hallmarks, if you have never used an iPod or an iPhone you may have some initial difficulties with using it.

This short pocket guide aims to take away the mystery behind iPad 2 and help you make the most of it. The guide is written in an extremely accessible and to-the-point style, and from the very outset it takes you straight to the actual demonstrations of how to achieve certain actions on your iPad 2. It helps you navigate the plethora of settings and adjustment options, and tries to make sense of them. The book also covers some of the unique iPad 2 features, such as the use of the two cameras and video editing. One of the books's greatest strengths is that it is not just a bag of tricks, but a clear and lucid explanation of the rationale behind every design option on your iPad 2 (both hardware and software). Even seasoned iPhone and iPad users will find many valuable tips and insights, and the book is a valuable reference for the long-term use.

I also enjoyed the format of the book. As the name suggests, it is rather small but I would still not attempt to put it in my pocket. The illustrations, although small, are very clear and help to illustrate all the relevant material. It is a very intuitive guide for a very intuitive device.

As a side note, I have written this entire review on my iPad. I still don't use it as a full-fledged laptop replacement (nor was it meant to be used that way), but with addition of an external keyboard it can go a long way of meeting most of your daily productivity needs.

After receiving my iPad 2 and discovering there is no written manual I knew I needed help to utilize all that I had purchased. Too many companies seem to think we like looking online for their manual when at times it is difficult to follow. This is a great book and has answered any question I have had so far. I am very happy with this purchase!

As a first time owner of an ipad, this book has helped me through many issues that were new to me. So far, I have found out how to use my ipad2 for what i want in this pocket size help book

I found this book current, easy to follow and very informative. I'm not computer savvy so was grateful for the help!

While this book is truly a POCKET guide as far as size is concerned, it is a gem with so much info about the iPad 2 that you will likely be amazed when you learn all the functions of your iPad 2. The content is well-written and very easy to follow. In addition to having a complete table of contents, it also has a concise index. Following are only a few samples from the twelve chapters of the book.

A final little notation: If you need to use an apostrophe as in "can't" or a possessive as in "man's inhumanity to man," the instructions on page 17 of this little treasure are as follows: on the iPad2 keyboard "touch the comma (,) key and slide your finger up to insert the apostrophe character." Who would ever have thought of that? I recommend this gem of a book very highly.

I've found this little book to be very helpful as I learn the ins and outs of the world of iPad.

I decided on this guide for a newly purchased iPad 2, for use in my travels. It was a perfect guide for quick and easy assistance. Also, loved the smaller size of the guide while traveling. Overall, very pleased.

I pad 2 pocket guide was very helpful in understanding the basic functions and programs that are within the basic model. My only recommendation would be to have more illustrations that would inhance the books functionality. Overall 4 out 5 stars.The iPad 2 Pocket Guide (Peachpit Pocket Guide)
