5.0 out of 5 stars Best Case Ever
I change phones all the time. always buy 2 or 3 different cases for different uses: a light silicon, a leather luxury and a big but more protective hard (aluminium) case.
So, you can say I'm a specialist. And I can state that, having this one you don't need other cases.
Best I ever got! it's hard but it's light AND small.

1.0 out of 5 stars I am at peace with this bait and switch
Kind words - I like ugly industrial things, it DID protect my phone when I dropped it.

Not so kind - I dropped it once and it will never latch again. It's made of low grade aluminum - aircraft quality my patootie. It's like one of those covered clipboards, but cheaper.

Not so kind - I dropped it once and it will never latch again. It's made of low grade aluminum - aircraft quality my patootie. It's like one of those covered clipboards, but cheaper.

What I got doesn't really look like the photos - hinge is on the bottom, not the side, fewer grill openings. Maybe that's why the price dropped...

It came with a plastic screen cover that in no way was touch screen compatible. Think plexiglass. I removed that and it does work - had to patch the rubber coating inside back together, though.

For $9.99 you get what you pay for.

Best I ever got! it's hard but it's light AND small.
It has all the needed apertures (sound, ear sensor, voice, on and off, charge, etc) and is so beautifull.
Best of all: the protective screen that comes with it is so cool: it's SO THIN (to be sensitive, it's really needed) that it has when arrives, TWO protective screens to the screen itself (like a sandwuich) and you take off one when you will install and the other one after you install... it's SO PERFECT!
Last but nos least, the clip is very thin (thinner I'v ever seen) and it has that "brake" to avoid someone -or ouselves- to take the clip off the belt by mistake...
Thanks Amazon for offering this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the clumsy!, September 26, 2007
I bought this for my husband about six weeks ago. He is a habitual phone-dropper and I wanted to get something for him that would look good at work on his belt (the swivel is great!) and keep that insanely expensive phone from becoming a broken pile of parts.

So far he's dropped the phone plenty of times in parking lots and on other hard surfaces - the phone and the case are still in great shape! His boss liked how it looked quite a bit so we even got him one for his birthday.

If this thing ever breaks, I'll be buying a duplicate to replace it, though I think it'll hold up for awhile yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Caused too many problems to my phone, January 5, 2008
By
I just got the Iphone as a Christmas gift and the following day after trying on all of the cases at the cell phone store I decided on this one. I thought that out of all of cases there, it not only looked sharp, but it would protect my phone the best. After putting my phone in this case I immediately began having problems with my phone, no reception being the biggest issues. I have driven back to the apple store 4 times since December 26, today they were going to swap my iphone for a new one when the tech noticed that once out of the case my phone worked like it was supposed too. He placed my case on his own Iphone and had the same problems that I had with mine!!!! another tech came over and told me not to use that case as the aluminum interferes with the phone (wish somebody would of told me this the first time I went to the apple store). I purchased a plastic case for my Iphone today and so far HAD NO problems!!!! Too bad that I bought two of these cases i will not be putting them back on on my Iphone.

I am totally dsappionted with this case! Because of what I recieved I have had to order another. Unless you are going into the Outback or Bush don't buy this case. The phone bounces around in the case with little padding . I dont like it . I wish that I could have a refund or replacement.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money.......and damage your iPhone, September 15, 2007
I bought TWO of these covers because I have a desire to protect my "investment". I thought that being made of aluminum would offer that. HOWEVER......the phone will cut out in a call and the phone heats up....most likely shorting against the case or somesuch. I didn't spend $500 to turn my iPhone into garbage. I am VERY upset and maybe you'll read this before you make the same mistake I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars There's a reason this thing is so cheap..., February 24, 2010

The case is unusable. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't say, "Oh, it got a lot of 4 star reviews, it must not be that bad. It's only 5 bucks too!" That's 5 bucks you can go buy beer with. Keep the 5 bucks.

How doth this case suck? Let me count the ways...
1. Pretty flimsy. The loose friction latch on the side not only fails to keep the case closed when dropped, it snags all the time when you're taking the phone in and out of your pocket.
2. The fit, or lack thereof. When the phone is in the case, the screen is about 1/4" below the edge of the case. That little circle that's cut out to hit the home button? Almost impossible to do. Adjusting volume and locking the phone, very hard to do because of the fit of the case. Take all the manual switches and buttons that Apple worked so hard on and make them 5x more frustrating to get to.

Please please please please listen to the crowd on this one. This isn't worth getting your hopes up about.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great design. FATAL FLAW., June 21, 2009
By

I would give this case 5 stars if it wasn't for the one problem, but it's a BIG problem. I'm giving it 1 star in hopes that someone like me, who reads a few 5's and a few 1's, will read my review before buying this case.

**The Good**

This case looks awesome, and would cost a lot more than $3 anywhere else. It's sleek, lightweight, and looks like something G.I. Joe would carry. It's strong and has good padding, and it fits super tight in the case. There's no chance the phone would fall out if the face of the case was opeened. That thing is SECURE in the mounts. You literally have to pry it out. I'm very confident my phone would be OK if I dropped it.

**The Bad**

It obliterates your cell signal.

****Without a case at home in my best signal spot and using EDGE, I can keep 3-4 bars on this phone. I can keep a 3G signal with 5 bars there, and at least 3 bars everywhere else in the house while still on 3g. My EDGE signal pretty much dies anywhere outside of my living room. All that is without a case.****

**With the case and using EDGE, I either get 1 bar or no signal. I can't get a call out, and if I drive around town 2 bars is the best I can do.

3G will not work at all with this case on the phone. In the strongest area, I might get 1 3G bar.*****

Other than that fatal, obsolete-making flaw, this is an awesome case. I can't recommend it though. It's way too hard to get in and out of the snap-ins to have to take it in and out for better signal when it's needed.

I hope this helps.
