4.0 out of 5 stars Alternative to cutting the strip off
When the phone rings, I just flip open the case and push the phone up so the sensor is no longer blocked, and it works perfectly. I LOVE this case - it gives complete protection for my iphone, which is what I wanted most - I couldn't care less about showing it off - and it's not too heavy, easy to manage with the magnetic closure. Having to push up the phone to take and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Blocks the sensor, August 9, 2007
This review is from: Apple iPhone Premium Leather Flip Carrying Case with Rotating Belt Clip - 3 Color Choices (Compatible with 1st Generation ONLY) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Please note that you WILL have to cut out the leather strip above the ear piece. In the current configuration this case blocks the proximity sensor to let the phone know if it is against your face. The phone will not answer or hang up correctly.

There is a small trapezoid opening where you would place your ear to hear the call. Take scissors and cut the thin strip of leather above the trapezoid completely off the case. Now the case is usable.

Pretty nice case with good leather and full protection for $15. Most correct factory usable cases are $40.

For the english majors and geometry specialist please feel free to correct my use of trapezoid. The iPhone is wonderful.

I LOVE this case - it gives complete protection for my iphone, which is what I wanted most - I couldn't care less about showing it off - and it's not too heavy, easy to manage with the magnetic closure. Having to push up the phone to take and make calls is the only problem, and totally not a big deal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice case, September 19, 2007
The comment above is exactly correct regarding the sensor. It's a royal pain that you have to cut up the case, but once you do - it is exactly what I was looking for.

Very cute case. The back flips to different positions and it's a tight grip. I think it will be a little bit of a pain to open the case to see who is calling and answer calls, but I wanted something to protect the screen while in my purse. The material is shimmery and has holes in all of the right places for turning off the sound, home button, etc. The camera button is usually partially blocked, so you have to adjust it or just better yet, take it out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute but not functional..., January 19, 2008
I loved my little pink phone cover at first... but the iphone is too touchy for this case. Countless times I have had to slip the iphone out so that I could get the screen to move properly. My iphone is already in another case after just a few days of use... it is cute... but not functional... ;(

4.0 out of 5 stars It's great protection, December 13, 2007
From the conversations I've had with other iPhone owners, there's not a perfect case out there. They all have pros and cons. I like this one because it attaches to the outside of my purse (even when I toss it in the purse, the color of the case is hard to miss!) and I push it up from the bottom to receive a call. Most of the time I'm using the ear plugs anyway and it's perfectly fine with that. It's likely not the very best cover out there, but I do like that the face of the phone is covered. Additionally, the case is well-crafted and the price is right!

3.0 out of 5 stars Need scissors to use phone, April 6, 2008

Thanks to comments on this site, I clipped the leather on top to allow the sensor on the phone to recognize when my ear is pressed to the phone. One problem is using the keyboard keys to the far left or right--hard to hit the keys even with 6-1/2 size fingers. I use this case when I am exercising and another case for "day" wear.

4.0 out of 5 stars Using with ipod touch, November 23, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this case for my iPod Touch since there are very few cases available at the moment for the Touch. It fits so well it's hard to imagine a thicker iPhone fits it as well. The only down side is the headphone jack is covered by a little strap, but sometimes I just put the Touch in upside down and it works fine. The case is of reasonable quality but definitely not a cheapo. Though not perfect for a Touch, this will get me by until Touch cases start to roll out.

I love this pink case! I can fit my stylus & Samsung Mythic touch phone in it perfectly! I like that the clip rotates so I don't have to remove it from my belt to view the phone. Very happy with this purchase! Love the pink color!
