4.0 out of 5 stars Great case with only a few slight annoyances
I really like this case. It's very durable, looks sleek and fits the product very well. The phone is well covered, including a seperate soft rubber plug for charge/sync port. The exterior appears to have a micro-coat of slightly rubberized material, which allows me to keep a good grip on the phone without feeling to 'rubbery' or 'sticky'. 1.0 out of 5 stars Crappy Case
The case was peeling the top layer after 2 days of use, and as described in other reviews the top began to split when I took my phone out to clean it and put it back in. That was 2 weeks later.
The company has not answered any email for request of replacement or even an acknowledgment that the case is bad.

DO NOT BUY!!!

The front button is very soft to the touch. The cover fits very close to the phone so rather difficult to slide into the case at first until you get the hang of it. But this is good because the phone does not slide around inside, which could cause scratches on the phone.

The interior does not have a soft coating like the outside, so it's hard plastic against the phone. However, I have inserted and removed the phone several times and I haven't seen any scratches on my iPhone. There is a very tiny dab of 'goo' on the inside which appears to be excess adhesive used to glue the glass screen to the case during manufacturing. I only mention this because it leaves a bit of a smudge on the iPhone, which isn't easily cleaned off. I did use alcohol and it removed the adhesive smudge. This could have been a slight defect in my product only and it may not be a common problem.

My only real complaint is the glass screen cover causes rainbow looking 'halo' visual effect as a result of being against the iPhone screen. This is not very noticable unless the screen is all dark or on white backgrounds. It's annoying enough to me that I will have to give the product a 4-star rating because of this.

Overall though, I will say this is a very nice case! I don't regret the purchase, although I think it's a bit overpriced (another reason for the 4-star rating).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great case but......, February 27, 2009
This review is from: iPhone 3G Touch-Thru Quattro-T4 Hard Case W/Glass Screen Jet-Black (Electronics)
OK, this has gotta be the best case I've used for my Iphone 3G. I have the black one. The only thing I do not like about it is the soft rubbery stuff over it is starting to peel off on the front. Other than that, the case it self is Number 1. Maybe its because my iphone lives in my pocket and with the constant in and out of my pocket, its starting to peel off. Something else may folks have noticed is the rainbow effect to the top right. Getting it in the case with the sound/vibrate button takes a little care and is a bit tight. But once you get the top half in, just make sure it is in nice and not to tight (hard to explain just gotta do it) put the bottom piece on and good to go. yea I got that rainbow effect, but by loosing it up some no rainbow for me! As for the screen, yes it gets hella smudgy, but a daily wipe down is all you need. I was wiping all my prior phone everyday anyways, so no big difference here. Don't get it twisted now, even with the smudgy screen once the iphone comes on, its clear as day!

All in all I would give this a perfect 5 but because of the peeling, rainbow (that you can rid) and smudgy screen after a long day of use it gets a 4.

I've had this case about 4 months now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware, November 24, 2009
This review is from: iPhone 3G Touch-Thru Quattro-T4 Hard Case W/Glass Screen Jet-Black (Electronics)
Poorly designed, appalling quality control.

The Quattro T4 does NOT compare to its successful predecessor, the Xylo Touch-Thru© (T2) case for the original iPhone 2g, which I purchased several months ago. The predecessor T2 was comprised of only two solid parts which fit perfectly, were easily removed and quickly reassembled, and still protect my original iphone today.

The Quattro T4 has FOUR moving parts. The T4 is surprisingly too complicated for quick assembly. The manufacturer, Ivyskin, had to make a special YouTube video to explain EXACTLY how to reassemble. Too many parts mean some are easily lost, including a small, standalone rubber protector for the docking port. After umpteen futile attempts to clean the flimsy, standalone glass protector, you might be tempted to go nearly naked with just the front & back covers for protection. Don't! The standalone glass shield blends too easily with any surface, like the proverbial needle in a haystack. The manufacturer will charge you $12.95 to replace the glass each time it is lost. Dido $3.95 to replace the standalone, rubber port protector. After only two weeks, the so-called unibody back cover came "unglued". Before I returned the defective product, I spent an hour searching for the standalone glass and rubbers (the manufacturer gives you two small, standalone rubber protectors to easily lose). The manufacturer charged me $33.59 for the opportunity to return a defective product, including shipping charges, restocking fee, and lost standalone parts which I belatedly located a week after returning the T4. Ivyskin refunded me only $17.39 out of the original purchase price of $44.99. Talk about profit margins!

Adding insult to injury, customer service advised me that a new, improved version of the T4 would be ready to ship the following Monday. The customer service rep said Ivyskin had received a lot of returns (spelled defective) for the T4 version I purchased just two weeks prior. Assume two month's lead time to re-manufacture a new, improved version of the T4 to replace a boatload of defective original T4s. Translation: Ivyskin knowingly sold me and countless other suckers defective versions, rather than waiting until functioning replacements arrived. Rather than risk losing my sale, Ivyskin took the low road by knowingly distributing a defective version. No skin off their Ivy back, since I paid for their corporate gamble.

Did I mention the Quattro T4 was defective?

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Idea, Bad Design - Expensive, March 16, 2009
This review is from: iPhone 3G Touch-Thru Quattro-T4 Hard Case W/Glass Screen Jet-Black (Electronics)
Rubberized coating is peeling off the front part of the case. This is not happening on the back part. I ordered a black and red case. They both are doing this.

Once the phone is in the case don't plan on removing it. The only way I have been able to remove from either case is push a pen next to the earphone jack. This causes damage to the Iphone but was the only way to get it out.

As for the rainbow effect. I had read the reviews and thoroughly cleaned both screens. This seemed to fix the problem for one case but the other I must have missed a tiny bit at the top and now the oil has worked its way down the screen. The risk for damage to the iphone or case during removal I decided to leave the "rainbow" for now.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great case IF..., March 10, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: iPhone 3G Touch-Thru Quattro-T4 Hard Case W/Glass Screen Jet-Black (Electronics)
Purchased this case with high hopes. It protects your phone with a hard case that is fantastic. The screen protector is also very responsive. There was a "rainbow" effect that became more noticable over time. This was mild and invisable while using the phone, apps, or the other various functions of the device. The texturing really helps the phone feel secure in your hand.

The case has two problems. The texturing started to rub off after only a week. This really effects the look but not a real issue for me except the second problem. The case forms tightly around the case and can potentionally scratch the back of the case. Mine was too tight or poorly constructed and the top began to split after the second installation. Now the case lets in all sorts of dirt and pocket lint.

4.0 out of 5 stars Did I get a different case? I like it., April 21, 2010

I really like this case. I have not had the peeling problem with a couple weeks of heavy use. It has withstood a couple of falls. I do like it better than the otterbox because the belt clip does a much better job of holding it in. The otterbox is probably better protection but the belt clip was useless and the phone fell the most because it dropped out. I almost lost the phone several times due to it falling out.

The ivyskin is sleek and the screen is more responsive than the otterbox. I don't use the bottom port protector because I'm always plugging it in to charge in my car. I have not had a problem with not using it. I am not constantly taking the phone in and out of the case so I don't know if that makes a difference in how the case holds up, but it has been good so far.

I have the black case with the belt clip.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best hard case on the market, January 3, 2009

This review is from: iPhone 3G Touch-Thru Quattro-T4 Hard Case W/Glass Screen Jet-Black (Electronics)
Since I purhased my iPhone I have been looking for a case that was would protect it but not impact the unit's appealing form factor. I like to drop it in a pocket so soft cases were not a good option; the sticky silicone is annoying. Most cases also don't offer much protection against keys and coins. I had a leather case that was great protection but was annoying to use because the edges of the case interfered with some display functions. In contrast to others, this case is fantastic. It looks good, feels good and the polycarbonate front provides great protection without you ever knowing it is there. It costs more than others but you get what you pay for. I would buy it again, without question.

This case is a waste of money. They should sell these in the dollar store. I didn't find the quality that good. The glass inside and out is hard to clean. I called ivyskin they said to spray windex into it and clean with a pencil. At 45 I would think the glass would come out for cleaning. It feels fat in your pocket and the rubbery feeling is not up to iphone quality. I didn't like this case. I'm trying to find someone with a iphone to sell it too before they read this review.

1.0 out of 5 stars It didn't do its job, August 24, 2010
This review is from: iPhone 3G Touch-Thru Quattro-T4 Hard Case W/Glass Screen Jet-Black (Electronics)
Bought it for about $35 a few months ago. It looked great and felt great on my phone. No problem with touchscreen while typing, etc. BUT.......I dropped my iPhone today. The IvySkin protective glass case itself held up great. BUT, THE IPHONE'S GLASS SCREEN CRACKED UNDERNEATH!!! SO DISAPPOINTING. Now I have to get the iphone screen repaired.
