5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasent Surprise and Great Resource November 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have to say that, I'm pleasantly surprised by this book. I had no idea of the breathe and depth of photo tools available through the app store.

I stopped carrying a dedicated camera, now that my iPhone has more megapixels, then my old camera has. I found the transferring and photoshopping of the images to my computer, tiresome to get the images to look how I want. This book showed me multiple options for not only taking photos, but manipulating them as well. Nancy's catalogue was extensive, and gives me a lot of different tools to play with.

The writing is clear and concise, with lots of descriptions and photos, that should really help me narrow down the tools I need to keep on my iDevices. It's good to see photos, and examples of what the apps can do; that way I won't have to waste time and money on apps I won't use.

I highly recommend this book if you're a photo-junkie and love to use the camera app on your iDevice; this will give you some serious options on how to handle the photos, before you share them with family, friends and the world.

I'll admit that my mobile photos are pretty boring. So lately, I've checked out different apps to help me improve their image quality. The problem? There are literally HUNDREDS of apps in the iTunes store. So it's hard to know which "image editor app" to pick. That's why I found a ton of value from Nancy's book!

Basically, this book is a review of the different apps you can use to edit and add a bit of style to your photos. I found it especially useful since it's geared towards people of different skill levels.

What I liked best is how Nancy detailed the special features that each app offers. Plus, she provides sample photographs of how to use this feature. This small detail really helped me decide which app is right for me. For instance, she listed the "My Sketch" app which turns your apps into eye-catching illustrations. Now I can create lots of images that people will love!

Overall this is a great guide if you're looking to use iPad/iPhone apps to create awesome images!

25 Must Have iPad Apps for Digital Photogrpahy

I've been a long-time PhotoShop user (starting way back with v. 3!), so when I got my iPad I never saw it as a way to do meaningful digital editing. I played around with some photo apps (like Instagram and Skitch) but I never got into much more than that. When I read this book I realized just how much I could do with the iPad and my digital images. Some of the suggested apps really are just for fun, but I was surprised at the ones that were close to PhotoShop-like features like layers and other high-end adjustments. I also discovered a few apps that create off-the-wall looks that I would have spent a lot of time in PhotoShop creating. What's also great is a bunch of the apps are free - and the complex ones only cost a few bucks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your photo's don't have to be boring April 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
iPhone and iPad photography is a must have if you want to learn more about apps that help you make the best of your photographing experience with your iphone or ipad. I don't have an iphone but use my ipad regularly to make pictures. My favorite app to post them online has always been Instagram. Bu now I am fully aware that I have been selling myself short.
I'll be off to the app store soon to add some new gems to my collection.
The book is filled with useful pictures and descriptions. No more boring photos for me thanks to author Nancy Hendrickson.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE iPhone app for photos guide November 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Even though I take a lot of iPhone pictures I was surprised to see how sophisticated digital editing has become. For example, I didn't know there were apps that created layers and masks for iPhone photos - I thought this was more in the realm of Photoshop. I liked the layout of this book, the categories, and the photos that were used to illustrate how to use an app or features that were almost hidden from the top view.

I may end up using some of the more advanced editing tools, but I also liked learning about the one-tap apps that could instantly transform a photo into a pop image or a picture that looked like it was painted by a true artist. There's a wide range to choose from - and this book will save me buying a lot of apps that I may never use.

4.0 out of 5 stars FOUND SOME USEFUL APPS January 1, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading this book i discovered a couple of useful apps. As with any book of this nature they do date quickly, but for under $3 i am not complaining.I highly recommend this to anyone who is starting out with iphone photography or ipad editing as a means to setting up, ready to go. I might add ProHdr app, camera+, ColorSplash and my favourite Diptic app as worthwhile.
