4.0 out of 5 stars Pluses and Minuses Versus Julbo Looping 2 Sunglasses
I bought both this and the Julbo Infant/Toddler's Looping Sunglasses with Cord (Julbo Looping 2) to compare the two. This comes in a clear soft plastic case whose insert specifies (among other things) "Made in China" and "Filter category 3, medium tinted / EN 1836 (2005)." A label on the lens says "Comply to ANSI [American National Standards Institute] Z80.3-1986 / 100%...

3.0 out of 5 stars sharp warning
This product did have some sharp edges left from the plastic molding, which I filed off pretty easily. My baby doesn't like to wear them, however.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pluses and Minuses Versus Julbo Looping 2 Sunglasses, June 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought both this and the Julbo Infant/Toddler's Looping Sunglasses with Cord (Julbo Looping 2) to compare the two. This comes in a clear soft plastic case whose insert specifies (among other things) "Made in China" and "Filter category 3, medium tinted / EN 1836 (2005)." A label on the lens says "Comply to ANSI [American National Standards Institute] Z80.3-1986 / 100% UV Protection." (According to the company's Web site, the sunglasses offer 100% UVA & UVB protection.) The frame front is about 4 inches wide and 1.25 inches high. Two elastic straps are attached to the frame front; if you overlap the Velcro on the straps by at least 1/2", you form a wrap-around band that can fit head circumferences of about 15"-19".

PLUSES: I liked the fact that it has no temples to poke a child's eyes. The frame front is quite flexible, which probably leads to better conforming to more faces than a rigid frame front. The price is much lower than the Julbo. ANSI compliance is nice (although more recent versions like 1996 or 2008 would have been even better). The sunglasses float easily, with the straps above the water's surface.

MINUSES: The sunglasses are less stylish (but perhaps more "fun") than the Julbo. The lenses pop out rather easily. There is a "right side up" which may be confusing to young kids. Finally, the bridge has no cushioning material for the nose (although that may not critical due to the frame's flexibility).

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Specs, June 25, 2009

My 11-month does try to take these off most of the time, but they are really cute and I can't imagine any baby/toddler sunglasses being more comfortable or better sized.

5.0 out of 5 stars comfortable and cute, April 28, 2009

It is good to have babies get used to sun protection early. These are very soft and easy to put on. Yes, my nine-month old can take them off. But usually he doesn't bother them. He looks adorable in them. I would recommend them to other babies who are learning healthy habits.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, April 1, 2009

Nice and soft enough for our 4 month old daughter...no nose marks. And the lenses are darker than they appear in the picture. They were a little big for her at first and it would have been nice if the velcro on the strap was extended, but overall great product that we have recommended to friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Sunglass for Infant, November 11, 2009
These sunglasses work great for a first pair for an infant. The velcro is strong and they are a comfortable fit. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because of the bands, they aren't really adjustable. The velcro is a little long making it only slightly adjustable. My 9 month old has a fairly large head and they barely fit him.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok, but touch face, October 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Good idea, but when I put them on my son, the plastic around the lense near the nose was pushing into his face making a mark, so they seemed uncomfortable for him and we hardly wore them.

I found these sunglasses to be perfect for my 7-month old. Surprisingly, she did not try to take them off. She wore them for a good 2 hours or so and they did not seem to phase her whatsoever. When I hold these up to my eyes, the view through them is crystal clear - better than my own sunglasses. I would definitely buy these again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Baby sunglasses are cute., September 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These glasses are really cute but I tried to look through them and they are pretty blurry. I'm not sure if it really matters to an infant who can barely see anyway, but it would make me feel better if they were clear. Other than that, I like them because they do protect his eyes from the sun.
