I don't often write reviews.

I SO need a primer to help me understand how my ipod touch (3rd generation, 64G) works.

Perhaps (over the past twenty-plus years) I've developed a bias that "manuals" and "user guides" so often seem to be written for people who already understand the device and it's software, and need some help tweaking different functions. I'm no tweaker! I need how-do-I-turn-this-thing-on assistance! I need a primer!

When I searched amazon.com for a book/resource, this book description: My iPod touch (covers iPod touch running iOS 5) (3rd Edition) seemed the most helpful for me, and it did not disappoint!

10 minutes right out of the box, a quick glance through the index, and I had two (TWO I tell you!) answers for questions I've previously not been able to find clues, let alone any specific "how-to" info.

Execellently organized, and seemingly thouroughly put through the Ipod Touch paces, this is not a book to sit down and read cover to cover. It's a manual for how-to-use; and a ready reference when I don't recall exactly how to use one of the bazillion different features available on my Ipod Touch.

GREAT REFERENCE!

I intend to fully take advantage of this info, and report back in an update for how right or wrong I find this resource. In the meanwhile, if you are truly an ipod touch novice, you can't go wrong with this book!

I bought this as well as the 'Dummies' book. My bf, who is not computer savvy, recently bought an iPod 4g and wanted to learn more. I ordered both books so that he could have a choice. He loves this book and found it very easy to read and understand. He especially likes the pictorial presentation, as well as the written explanations. Both features make this book worth every dime. (P.S.I kept the Dummies book for myself.)
