Simply excellent drive
I bought this for my laptop because it did not have a dvd drive. It worked like a charm. Plugged into my pcmica card with usb2.0 ports. No drivers or anything.. Write speed is good for an external drive.

Don't buy this product
Owning this product has been a lousy experience. While installation seemed easy and the product worked well at the first trial, that quickly changed after the first reboot. The company does not supply drivers or support tools for XP (I have a plain but new Dell computer). The time and effort spent trying to solve all the interoprability issues with this product has...

Owning this product has been a lousy experience. While installation seemed easy and the product worked well at the first trial, that quickly changed after the first reboot. The company does not supply drivers or support tools for XP (I have a plain but new Dell computer). The time and effort spent trying to solve all the interoprability issues with this product has offset the initial savings manyfold. Next time I'll buy from a better known manufacturer that provide a minimum amount of support tools!
