By Moon Man (SoCal) - See all my reviews PROS: -Great Functions. You can transfer music from the PC, FM radio, ad voice record. There's also the many options such as fixing the EQ sound, visualization, and other stuff. -Voice recording. The sound is pretty clear. You can delete and rerecord. -Radio Recording. Yes, you can record music you listen to on the radio, but I don't recommend it. The static also get recorded along when there is any, although most of the time there isn't much static. -Sound. The sound quality it very awesome :] CONS: -Ear Buds. They're nice and all, but the sponge-ish covering gets easily ripped after a few weeks. The box should give you a pair of extras, but it's not that great. And also, from experiece I have found that many people have problems with the ear buds and they say that it hurts after a while. For those of you with the same problem, I'd recommend you go out and buy earphones. -Software. The software is good, but for total beginners at computers, I suggest you get someone to help you. You have to install the program itself, then plug in the iriver with the USB cord and install the hardware, and on some of my computers I have found it a bit of a hazard because sometimes it would tell me that the hardware is not found or such. RECOMMENDATIONS: TO SAVE MEMORY: It's a long process, but if you want to fit more songs on your iriver, this should really help. Take whatever songs you want on your iriver and put them on a CD. After burning the CD, put the CD back in your computer and open it up on Windows Media Player. THEN: -Go to the "Rip" tab. (A listof your songs should show up.) -Click Tools at the top corner of the window and then click on Options. see picture: -Click on the "Rip Music" Tab. Change the format to Windows Media Player and then change the quality to "Uses About 56 MB per CD (128 Kbps)". see picture: -Click OK and go ahead and rip your music from the CD. -After you're done ripping, you open up your iRiver program ad connet your iriver, then move your RIPPED songs. Then you're done! PS: You will have to RENAME all your songs BEFORE MOVING THEM TO YOUR iRIVER because after ripping them, most likely they will be all named Unknown Artist and Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, etc. To do that, open up the folder that they are in (usually My Music>Unknown Artists), right click on the song, then go to Properties, Click on the Summary tab and Click "Advanced>>". Then you edit all the information you need to and then click OK.

Love the line-in feature,
By Additionally, I love that I can delete tracks on the fly, freeing up space for more recordings or to just indicate what I've already listened to. The "voice record" feature has come in handy a couple of times as I've been able to record meetings I couldn't attend with what is fairly good quality for a little on-board mic. The only down side I can see it that the player neither holds enough information for my tastes, nor plays video, but that was to be expected for a player of this vintage. All in all a great buy.
