I really love my Roomba 530 However after a few months of use the side brush module needed to be changed Some of the bristols were missing from the brush therefore this henced the performance of the side brush. Once replaced the side brush worked like the original one.

It even includes the brush as pictured - great! It took less than 15 minutes to install, including the unrelated but necessary cleanup of the roomba itself. This is basically a plug and play unit! Very easy, no fancy instructions necessary . . .
1) Turn your 'bot upside down. 2) Remove the side brush by unscrewing the philips head screw. If the brush is still in good shape, keep it - it will fit the new module. Also remove the brush from the new module 2) Locate and remove the 4 Phillips head screws that hold the bottom plate on and remove the bottom plate 3) Locate side brush module as pictured, there are two smaller Phillips head screws to unscrew. Don't worry about losing them - they are captive (thanks Roomba!) and new screws are included with the new module 4) Pull the old module out, set it off to the side and insert the new module (you did remove the brush from both modules?) 5) (optional) Do some cleaning while you have it open, liquid air works wonders 6) Put new module in, tighten down the screws - but not too tight! 7) Put the bottom plate back on, tighten down the 4 screws 8) Install your original or new brush (depending on condition) by screwing it down on to the module shaft (gentle here - don't over do it) - keep the old screw that you removed from the old module 9) Throw the old module away (follow applicable local laws) That's it folks - its really very easy to do . . . Mark PS: Whoever though 10 years ago you'd be repairing your own home robot? Cool Stuff!
