5.0 out of 5 stars Three time's the charm, January 6, 2010

I do not like the strange crusts produced by silicone baking pans, or cleaning the smeary surface of my Silpat baking sheet liner (parchment works as well, with no clean-up), but I adore this mixing bowl. It pours batters neatly and evenly - nice for waffles, pancakes, and popovers. No more dripping ladles!

5.0 out of 5 stars Necessity for stand mixer, November 1, 2008
By

This bowl is an absolute necessity if you have a stand mixer, especially ones with the narrow bowl (like the KitchenAid stand mixer from Costco). Works much better than the pouring shield. You mix your flour and other dry ingredients in it, squeeze the bowl to make the pouring spout, then easily pour the contents into your mixer bowl WITHOUT getting flour all over the place! I wish I had gotten one at the same time I got the mixer.

Do yourself a favor and add this to your kitchen. You won't be sorry, especially when you no longer have to clean up the spilled flour whenever you bake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beats the Pouring Shield, May 31, 2011
By

This is the better alternative to buying a pouring shield to your Kitchen Aid. I wanted to buy a pouring shield to prevent spillage for pouring in my dry ingredients into my Kitchen Aid. However, after reading mixed reviews, I bought this and have LOVED it. It conforms to help pour out the dry ingredients into the mixer so you don't overpour, or spill. I want to buy more. It's supposed to handle heat, too. I haven't used it in that way. Very appropriate size as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute AND Practical. BPA Free., March 24, 2011

I never knew just how handy a flexible mixing bowl would be until I started using this bowl. I mostly use it to mix ingredients before pouring them into my KitchenAid stand mixer. Prior to having this bowl, I used a spatula to guide ingredients from my rigid mixing bowl. With this bowl, I just squeeze the sides together & the contents pour out into the KitchenAid bowl with no stray ingredients hitting the kitchen counter.

The bowl is curved, which helps with pouring, and is labeled as BPA free. Inside, there are capacity marks/lines showing both quarts & milliliters. Easy to clean & dishwasher safe, this is my go-to mixing bowl for smaller mixes.

Wasabi green is more of a pea green, not a neon green.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cooking Aid Purchase In Years, November 23, 2008
This review is from: iSi Basics Flexible Silicone Mixing Bowl, 1.5 Quart, Red (Kitchen)
I purchased this bowl per a referral in my local newspaper because of its nonstick properties and high heat resistance even in microwaving, but I love it because of its flexibilty. I own a drop bowl KitchenAid stand mixer and when making cookies or anything that require flour, I sift my flour using my food processor. What is the problem nevertheless, is that when I add the flour to the stand mixer bowl, it usually goes everywhere but in the bowl. This is where the flex bowl comes into play, I just dump the flour into the bowl and flex it into a funnel and add it to the butter mixture in the drop bowl while it is mixing... I LOVE IT! No more mess. This feature alone will make this holiday season glorious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Mixing Bowl for Teen Cook, July 19, 2010

This review is from: iSi Basics Flexible Silicone Mixing Bowl, 1.5 Quart, Red (Kitchen)
My grand-daughter likes to cook so I gave her a cookbook and this wonderful mixing bowl. It is an eye-popping beautiful red color, especially appropriate for a 13-year-old. It is made of an amazing material that holds its shape well enough but is very easily flexed for stirring, scraping, or pouring. It was a well-received gift.
