Best ipad case I've had August 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I've gone through the Apple iPad case, a silicone one, and now this. The apple one was alright, best feature was the flap that covered the screen when not in use, but I really hated the extruded edge all around it sticking out, and the holes didn't line up well by the speakers and bottom. And of course Apple designed it so that you couldn't dock with their dock while their case was on. Unit slid in and out very easily though, but that edge was the deciding factor in not using it.

The silicone one I got was under $10, provided great grip on the back, but again couldn't be docked while on. I cut the back out of it on the bottom and could dock with it then, but didn't like the look then.

Found this here, and it's the exact same one I nearly bought direct from the manufacturer a few weeks ago for more than twice what it cost here. Glad I didn't, since getting it over half off through Amazon was a much better deal.

Unit really is held in there tight, this was the hardest one to get into the skin, but not unusually so. Unit ships with a small microfiber cleaning cloth, some wet wipe for LCD screens, and some stylized iSkin stickers. Only took a minute or so to get unit into the case, and the case feels good inside. See thru plastic in the back is slightly solid, not as grippy as the colored part, but is textured so it's still not quite as slippery as the ipad when naked. Good protection from normal day to day use.

Only reason I gave four stars rather than 5 was the button pressing and the docking cover. Home button works just as easy, volume press works slightly less than without skin, power a little tougher than the rest. But getting at the rotation switch is a pain, to get that flap out of the way unless you have some long fingernails. The port cover on the bottom is easy to get out, it's held in by a extruded piece that actually slides into the slot where the cable goes. The removable piece on the bottom that you take off to dock it is a pain to remove and put back on too. I may spend more time with that cover off than on.

All in all, happy with the product for the price, but wouldn't have been happy with it at the full retail price.

iSkin Vu Case iPad 2 Review January 4, 2012
The iSkin Vu case for the iPad 2 comes in three colors Bondi blue, Onyx black and Vive purple. The rear of the case is translucent and the color raps around the edge. The design looks great and reminds me of what Apple was up to throughout the G3 Mac era.

The cases construction is very solid with tough and resilient plastics used throughout. But I did find that because the construction is so tight a slight that getting the iPad into the case was tricky. And once it's in you won't need to worry about your iPad falling out you can't worry about it falling out. The slim profile of the case is makes it very portable and perfect to transport in a bag. The iSkin Vu features something called Microban, this is embedded into the case and prevents growth of bacteria which in turn cause stains and odours.

Full access is given to all ports and buttons. The volume rocker and sleep & wake buttons are covered with artificial in case ones which feel very tactile when used. The 30 pin dock connector, audio jack and mute switch are covered with rubber flaps so dirt and muck isn't going to bring harm to your iPad. The speaker is covered for protection resulting in some weaker audio. The bezel is partly exposed with the exception of the bottom front of your iPad. This is a slight annoyance because many Apps require a finger lead up from that side but it's not too much of a problem if the App your on allows you to just turn your iPad around.

The inbuilt stand is hinged onto the back of the case and can be adjusted to any angle and go in either portrait or landscape. The iPad is kept very sturdy in both positions but unfortunately you can't adjust the case to a typing position. I found myself using the stand for playing games and such, not things which demand a lot of keyboard use.

The protection is decent for this type of case. The iPad is hugged firmly within and mild drops and bumps are mostly absorbed from the materials of the Vu. This is a great case to have on your iPad when carrying it around in a bag.

The iSkin Vu is stylish, useful and practical. But figuring out how to incorporate a stand which is perfect for typing would be the cherry on top for me.

Great case for the i-Pad April 11, 2011
I purchased this case through B&H (cheaper than Amazon) after doing tons of research on different i-Pad cases. It's stylish and also provides decent protection for your device.

The case is well built and it fits on your i-Pad like a glove. While it is a nice, tight, fit you can still use a screen protector with no issue. (I have the Invisible Shield on mine...) The material of this case is really nice and it provides a nice grip to your i-Pad. I was able to put the case on without much trouble. The back piece that comes off for docking is a little harder to put on but it's not a deal breaker in my opinion. I like that all ports and buttons are covered and now protected. The fact that it can be docked with the case on (by removing the back panel piece) is a real plus.

I have the red version of the case and it's really nice. The back is clear with colored accents and I like this because you can still see the beauty of the i-Pad and any personalization that you might have added to the back of your i-Pad.

Overall, I think this is a great case and I highly recommend it.
